When I first saw this piece I thought wow this is really well made. Then I took a good long look to process this piece. Pony Rarity is spot on it captures Rarity's more dramatic essence. However human Rarity seems rather alien. As I study her more, the more I feel like this is a woman from the military. She exudes a serious almost cold vibe. It is not the usual over the top drama queen that we know and love.
This piece is excellent when it comes to originality. While it does have the issue mentioned above, it is truly a unique way of drawing Rarity.

I haven't written a critique for you in such a long time... so here it goes.
First of all great job! I love how you always capture their personalities in their backgrounds and their face expressions. Also their poses help with that.
I love how Rarity's elegance and fashion sense is captured in this picture. Her expression, her pose, her... mysterious aura make her very appealing to the eye.
Once more, great job with the shading and the lovely colors. You are certainly someone who knows which colors go great together. Congratulations! I'm so proud of you! You've completed the six now! Continue making beautiful, original artwork!

I was really expecting to see some, rubies, sapphires, or some type of gemstone in the background for Rarity, but somehow what you've done here instead works just as well. Perhaps more sparkles...either way I still like it.
I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about Pony Rarity is off...I automatically was ready to fall in love with her, then something stopped me, and that never happens with Rarity. I'm not sure if it's the eyelashes or what.. I'm just not in love with it like I would like to be. It's still good though. Love the drama queen facial expression though! You did her mane beautifully, graceful and elegant just like the pony we know and love.
Human Rarity, I fell in love with. Her facial expression doesn't scream at me, but I still get a sense of lady-like appeal, along with something else...more than a fashionista....and the mystery of that is intriguing. Outfit works, horn on her head looks a smidge funky but I'm not worried that much about it.

These are all *amazing*, yes.
Upon reading your comment about something interfering with the "initial wow" of the pony Rarity, I started really looking at it from a wide perspective, and what my eyes kept coming to was perfectly straight/square lines on the right front leg. The entire picture is filled with graceful curves, which makes that rigid right angle on her elbow stand out all the more.
Absolutely no criticism to the artist for that - just noting what caught my eye and may be related to your "feel" there.

I would like to start my critique with humanized version of Rarity: first thing that catches viewer's eye is style and elegance of human Rarity. The pose and of course the expression of lady-Rarity shows her exquisite nature.
The clothes which, without a doubt were made by Rarity herself, fit like a glove on her perfect figure, complemeting her curves and hiding what should be hidden, even though I personally find her figure to be absolutely perfect.
Pony Rarity is as gracious as her human counterpart. The author did a great work showing it with elegant and a bit theatrical gesture of Rarity's forelegs. Facial expression of our beloved 'drama queen' shows her passion and refinement of her emotions.
Sparkles and glimmer on the background create feeling of motion, spinning and dancing. I wouldn't be surprised if pony Rarity is actually waltzing right now on a scene, as Grand Galloping Gala's mane event - she's just that gorgeous.
Overall picture has great impact and the originality and vision of the author leave no place to discuss - they're simply perfect. Technique is as brilliant, so I do believe that this piece of art deserves five stars in all categories.

The only thing that I would change would be the ruby. I think that it would've been better if it was the heart shape ruby that Spike gave her. other than that it's realy well done.
