Some people take their alcohol straight, some with soda, some with juice. I think Reno takes his with Monster, Red Bull, Brawno, and/or rocket fuel.
Probably the rocket fuel.

I think people just see Reno as a funny character. An example is in Advent Children, when Reno tried to attack Cloud, he did a funny yell, and then he missed. ^_^ I love this.
