No, using the same type of hoverboard as Jet would never make the race fair for Ratchet. Wave the Swallow is bound to have planted a self-destruct mechanism on that board. So it's safer for Ratchet to use his Z-3000 with Platinum Zoomerator.

Wave did that to Sonic's old Blue Star racing hoverboard. BTW, Ratchet's not the only racer on a board. Spyro can do the same on a turbo-charged racing skateboard on wheels.
