Description
We had to do a bird of paradise while incorporating the style of a concept artist, but I preferred to do my own thing so I found one that did mainly black and white sketches so I could color how I wanted. I've been trying to get that effect with the brushes for years now, so I'm glad I could finally accomplish that sort of blended look. I wanted to do something really different so I decided to base my design on a microraptor instead of an actual bird! I like the color scheme a lot; it adds a lot to the piece. It was a pain to not be able to do straight lines, but the experience was nice.
