She was laughing.
Honestly, she hadn’t laughed in years.
Centuries, to be exact.
Well.
Not centuries.
But near enough.
Maybe it was because she was feeding herself to herself.
To any ordinary pony mind, it would have baffled their pathetic sense of reality.
But she knew.
She understood the rifts of time and space, the way it flowed around her. How life channelled by the second; leaving old shells and entering new bodies. Being reborn. The never-ending cycle of life.
If she wanted, she could reach out and feel time sifting over her hooves. And she could grasp the non-existent matter and swallow it, feeling the time flow through her throat and flesh, instantly breaking down her cells and transporting them over the rapid stream of life and death.
Her mind started churning, spewing the rainbows of the colour spectrum, even reaching past the light scale, pulsing out gamma rays.
Oh, the beauty of it all!
She chuckled, her tongue melding and shifting in her mouth. Her body parts began to reassemble themselves in a chaotic order; her eyes floated downwards, becoming grotesque and swollen, her muzzle sharpening into a beak-like cone, her limbs shivering and twitching as they multiplied and branched off.
And very soon, the process began.
Her head started first, liquefying and dissolving into rainbow. It clicked and whirred disturbingly, but she merely laughed as the sublimation began eating away at her body.
She was bending the rules of the Universe.
She was going to be punished.
But she didn’t care.
She didn’t care at all.
