Personality:
Soleus is quite an easy guy to get along with, and occasionally he can be a rather selfless fellow. He tends to act in the best interests of others rather than thinking, or doing, things more for his own benefit. Perhaps a residual trait from his laidback personality, as he is very much so a go-with the flow type of person. He would never go out of his way to intentionally hurt another without just reason. He loves meeting new people and making friends...as long as you're not a ghost! It's not to say that he would hate you for being such a species but this green-haired monkey has a rather obvious fear and discomfort towards the supernatural. Why he has this fear is unknown but it could possibly have to do with all the eerie noises he tended to hear in his hometown. For whatever reason, Soleus would rather be as far away from the supernatural as humanly possible. Thus, it has made him very superstituous—he believes in it all. Perhaps because he has a very large imagination. Thanks to his love for music and the arts, Soleus is very creative and a bit of an innovator. He's always thinking up something new and inventive to apply to his life, be it in terms of new song-styles or lyrics.
Soleus is very organizational in his methods; he likes things neat, tidy and on-time. No scattering around with this monkey, for sure! Such a trait may make him come across as neurotic, but he's not completely anal about it. However, because of his ability, he is a glutton...and not in terms of just food. His gluttony can cause him to come across as greedy, as he craves attention. Because of this, Sol can be quite clingy and does have a tendency to be easily jealous. Would he ever admit it out loud? Probably not, but it would still be shown in his actions. Beyond that, though, if one happens to win his companionship (which isn't hard to do, really) he can be very affectionate and loving.
Lastly, sometimes the boy can be clumsy not in terms of physicality but his mannerisms. At times he does slip up and say the wrong thing. Because he had to put on a facade for his younger brother, he can have a difficult time saying what he actually means or feels.

History:

For a long time, Soleus lived as an only child with his father in the deepest part of the Lostlorn woods until at the age nine years old, when his father got remarried to a Pansear, he was bestowed with a four-year-old little brother: Ray. At first, Soleus made it clear that he did not like how Ray always trailed after him like a shadow, but little by little he found himself starting to care more for Ray and act like the "elder brother" he was supposed to be. They developed a bond with one another, going out on scavenging missions and just flat out exploring the forest.

Two years after getting accustomed to this new family, Soleus was given his first guitar from his step-mother. He didn't know how to use it at first, which resulted in horrible sounding chords when he tried and an occasional tease from Ray, but he started getting the hang of it. Since he didn’t know any songs that he could learn, he started composing his own little tunes to entertain his family. It made him want to become a singer or a song writer, but it was still a distant dream for him...distant because Soleus knew that his father wanted him to be something "more useful" (as he put it) than that.

Eventually, as Soleus grew older, he began seeing changes in their parents. While Ray seemed oblivious, Soleus noticed that their parents no longer seemed to have time for them and instead traveled on a daily basis for work purposes. Each time they left the forest, they would always tell Soleus that they would be back the next day and that he would have to take care of Ray until they got back. Well, usually they returned, but not within the time frame they had said: one day would slowly turn into a week...a month... Soon, their parents didn't come back at all, leaving Soleus and Ray alone.

The years passed by; Lostlorn Forest started to become a rougher civilization to live in, and in order to start protecting himself and his brother, Soleus was forced to find a Leaf Stone and evolve. But even with his new strength, it still wasn't enough to fight off the groups of intruders that had overrun the villages. More and more of the villagers began leaving, which caused Soleus and Ray to eventually leave as well.

After a while, Ray decided that he wanted to go on his own, saying that he wanted to search for their parents. Soleus had long since given up the idea that their parents would ever come back, or even wanted to be found, but Ray thought differently; he thought that their parents had possibly gotten into some sort of trouble. At first, Soleus was startled by it and said that wherever Ray was going, he would go too, but Ray insisted that Soleus go off and be that musician he wanted to be. Soleus had little choice but to appreciate his little brother's independence and let him go... They parted on the promise that they would one day find each other again and rebuild their family wherever Soleus had settled down at.

For two years, Soleus lived just fine in a small town, doing well with his dreams and futher discovering new sides of himself. So many new friends...so many new experiences! Love especially, which was a first. Things seemed to be going so smoothly but like all good things, eventually they ended. Because of town complications, all of its residents were forced to go elsewhere. Another big move for him, unfortunately. So he, his girlfriend, and their two pets traveled elsewhere in search of a new residence to live in.

Jenna suggested that, instead of settling down right away, they study at a college for a little while. At least here, they would be provided with nice dorm-rooms until they could rent an apartment in the nearest town. In addition, they could study their areas of interest more in-depth and apply their skills to even more practical situations.
