As a childhood Disney fan, I find this artwork of Ariel from The Little Mermaid stunning and beautiful. The artist has definitely captured the look and feel of the original design while also adding a few personal touches like lighting and shading. The bubbles have a nice blur that makes them realistic and the lighting makes the little mermaid look even more radiant. Another thing I cherish is the way Ariel is looking at towards us; it is almost sensual and evokes beauty itself. Another unique feature I noticed is the POV shot, which is defined by how her arm is extending out. This is truly a work of art and a good way to pay tribute to a famous character and movie.

The exercise of mimicking styles is always a very useful practice. It was a wise decision to try to emulate the coloring work of other artist because that way, you have a point of reference that obligates you to break your schemes and see color work from a different point of view.
I see that you tried to give her a sensual look, and the drawing works well for that, but the color and the composition doesn't seem to help that intention. Your color work is often warm and shiny, and it works great for pictures that express romance or dreams, but when it's about seduction or passion, I may suggest you to use more contrasted shades and a warmer colors and taking advantage of light.
The drawing is great, don't miss understand me, but it would gain extra strength if you use every element of the drawing to help you express what the picture has to tell. That is, using composition, acting, coloring, contrast light and shade to reinforce the scene or the expression, you know what I mean?

hey darling, thank you so much for your critique...it really helps and i can see your point of view!Well the idea of trying a different way of coloring grew on me as soon as i saw that wonderful pic...at the same time i wanted to change drastically the style of the character too...i mean if you see the original you can see a manga/anime style with a sweet and innocence look...mine is more Disney (the lineart) and honestly i wanted her to have a determined look..like a strong young woman who has just taken an important decision...She's in love and wants to become human to be with the man she loves...this involves a kinda sexy/determined look if you know what i mean...maybe another coloring style would be more suitable for this one but i still like the way it is
