Description
I needed to make some sort of presentation for my online class, and we're allowed to use flash.. so there you go.O.o I wonder if I should be worried about fangirls attacking me? OH WELL!
Anyway, there is some sound.. will be more later. YOU HAVE TO CLICK THINGS, and/or roll over them, in order for things to happen.
UPDATE:
I just read a PDF essay discussing Buffy vs Bella as female protagonists in vampire fiction. Its interesting, and fun, and I thought I'd share it for those who actually read the artist comments: [link]

XD Well in terms of taking the idea seriously, there are a lot of draw backs to vampirism. No cake, no tea. D=
I wanna be a Time Lord.
XD It's not bad to be inspired by a dream, but you still have to be a GOOD WRITER, and she, well, isn't. >.>
A sexy new vampire book sounds good though. We don't have enough good ones!

Depends on wut type o vampire you wanna be. You could be like smeyers verion and be ghey and able to eat food but you haz to cough it back up. Or you could be like Ellen Schreiber's verison and be able to eat food like normal, but like for steak it would be raw. *nods*
Time Lord??
She is a bad writer, taking ideas from other storys and 'making them her own'. She should be fined for copyrighting.
They are mostly all the same. Like there are is the human girl falling in love with male vampire, then there is the elders that are against that love. And the male vampire doesn't do anything when the human girl figures out that the vampire male is well a vampire. Some are good writing still.

As far as I'm concerned, if you're going to be a vampire, you have to commit to it. Which means you feed off BLOOD, not raw steak. And I actually don't have a problem with eating food but having to cough it up, though I don't recall the Cullen's ever doing that. But for me, vampirism means no tea and no cake, which means I won't be turning any time soon.
It's from a British tv series. Time Lord's are aliens that can travel through space and time. They're not so much immortal as long lived, and they have 13 incarnations so they can avoid death. And it's my favorite tv show, so naturally I wanna be a Time Lord. (My friend would be a Lich, which is a nifty sort of undead if you're interested in things outside of vampires. ^^ )
Creativity is appreciated.
I'm reading Blood Sucking Fiends, A Love Story by Christopher Moore right now. It's grateful free of any of those vampire cliches for the romantic couple.. but I don't quite love the book. It's character centric, so while the characters are amazing, and teh books funny, I like the action and horror of vampire novels too, which this doesn't have.
So far Tanya Huff's Blood Books are probably my favorite. The tv show was okay too.

*nods* I don't mind blood. So I would be able to survive off it if I had to. Edward mentioned that to Bella I think when they where talking about getting married and the cake. How since it would be werid if Edward couldn't eat the cake, he explains how they just eat it before having to throw it up because their dead so they don't work properally, so like they have no digestive system. Which brings up a point that they shouldn't be able to reproduce. Like how does Edward make Bella prego if he's like completely dead?
Sounds sexy! I would totally watch that show if it was in Canada. I don't think it is. If it is I've never seen it. So question: After the 13 incarnations do they compeletely die? Also what about the nifty sort of undead?
I like Vampire Kisses (The book by Ellen Schreiber) because it has action and horror. The only thing that's wrong about it is the main characters Raven and Alexander are the typical vampire clichΓ©. Alexander is a vampire that moves to Ravens town and she falls in love with him. It is more clingy then Bella to Edward. At least in VK its double sided. Alexander is just as clingy to Raven as Raven is to Alexander. While in Twilight Bella is obbessed with Edward and Edward just wants her blood and when she turns into a vampire, my theory is that since she had a baby and he is too much of an olden gentlemen to leave her.

Ahh.
Meyer does try to explain why they can reproduce. All the fluids in the vampire's body are replaced with 'venom'. Once of my problems with Meyer's vampires is that they aren't even the animated dead, there's actually nothing human about their bodies, the 'skin cells' aren't skin cells, they're equivalent to rock, or specifically crystal, and the reason the 'rock' still allows joint movement is because ts lubricated with VENOM. I don't know WHY all the fluids in their body should be replaced with venom, since it just serves the EXACT SAME PURPOSE the regular fluids served in our bodies, like lubricating our eyes so they don't dry out, etc. ANYWAY to get the the point VENOM SPERM is how vampires reproduce. Of course, because Meyer can't just say 'magic' and leave it alone, she also tries to explain that vampires have ___ chromosomes, which is TWO MORE than human's have, thus the baby has *drum roll* ..... ______ chromosomes!
And then when people yell at her that that is not how chromosomes work she just bitches that she isn't a biologist. (btw, you learn how chromosomes work in middle school science) Either LOOK IT THE HELL UP, or DON'T PUT NONESENSE in your books.
/end rant
You can find a lot of Doctor Who episodes on youtube, and some other video sites. I wouldn't know if it aired in Canada. We get it a bit late in the US on the Scifi channel, or if you're lucky enough to have BBC America, it's on that channel for us too. Sometimes their 13 incarnation is evil, and yes, after that they're dead. Granted one of the main villains is an evil Time Lord that's managed to illegally reincarnate through various methods several times more than he's technically supposed to be able.
Liches are undead sorcerers created through a ritual after the person commits an evil act. I like to joke about kicking puppies as pure evil, but its more like killing a baby and drinking it's blood. But they become undead, waste away until their eyes are just pin pricks of light in empty sockets, and their bodies eventually become skeletal. They're necromancer's and general sorcerers. They achieve immortality by storing their souls in a phylactery, and can only be killed if the phylactery is broken.
I'll have to look it up. ^^
XD That makes me want to yell "SHOTGUN WEDDING!" even though they conceived after the wedding..

Wouldn't she, you know, die if she gets venom in her body? Thats how humans work. You inject us with any sort of poison or venom and we try to reject it quickly but it doesnt work. Meyer should have done research on that sort of thing before she published Breaking Dawn. See is completedly incompetent. If I where to publish a book like that, I would've left having the baby out.
So Meyers Vampires aren't really undead. They are completed changed from human from. Kinda like rocks that can walk. Because undead is when someone dies but still has some characteristics of living beings, as consciousness, movement, or speech. Meyers vampires don't actually die they just kinda fall asleep and had venom change heir body into a rock without any blood.
XP Well he doesn't change her until after the wedding. So he is like bambambam sexi tiems and out pops the baby and since h now has a baby, he is to much of a gentle man to leave her because of said fact and plus they are now part of the cullen tribe or clan or whatever.

Thats more or less the joke. It's really fun to yell 'venom sperm' and see how people react. ^^
I don't recall the details from them describing the act of turning, so I don't recall if they specifically say the body dies or not. But I have that impression, pretty much. Walking shiny rocks. Kinda brings on the idea of "If they're rocks with venom replacing all the liquid in their systems, why do they need to drink blood?"
No reason he couldn't have changed her before the so-savage-it-knocked-her-unconscious-but-he-finished-anyway sex. BUT THEN THERE WOULDN'T BE A HELL SPAWN BABY. *amused*

MY SISTER GOT NIGHTLIGHT THE PARODY OF TWILIGHT!
I don't care really. I'm into different series now anyways. Like The Darkest Powers trilogy, it has no vampires. It's more like Necromancers, Werewolves, Witches, and Sorcerers. Its really good. You should read it if your into that sorta thing. But yea, Why DO they need to drink blood?
The so-savage-it-knocked-her-unconscious-but-he-finished-anyway sex is rape techincally. Since she got knocked out that means he doesn't have 'the right of way'. So yea. I win he loses. Now he has a baby he has to take care of the rest of eternity. XD

I hadn't heard of Nightlight. Maybe I'll look it up now. XD
Well I certainly am into necromancers, werewolves, witches, and sorcerers. I'll have to look that up too. ^^
You could also make a case that she raped Edward, considering she forced him to agree to sleep with her by consistently bothering him about it even when the asking clearly was causing her near PHYSICAL PAIN. If the person is forced into a corner, the consent doesn't count. They raped each other. (granted I never read this part of the book, so that's based off of other peoples explanations)
He doesn't have to take care of that baby, though. That's what pedophile Jacob (who also sexually assaults Bella resulting in her serious injury during I believe book 2) is there for! 'Cause you know, why fall in love with a person based on their personality and abilities when you can imprint on them!

Maybe someone has already pointed it out but in the slide about Bella's portrayal and her reflection, it says that she has no "amitions". Ambitions, right?
I don't mean to nitpick. Just hoping that would help since little typos always slip past me and it's a presentation for your class.

I absolutely loved that. I own all the books, but there was a reason. I read the first book when it came out, way back when. It sucked, but the story line was cute. I heard another book was out and picked it up. I must admit that meyer... sucks. Period. She has no talent in writing, but as far as the story line goes (aside from the wrist flipping, fairy jumping vamps) it was cute. The movies put my mind at ease because I didn't have to roll my eyes every few pages. She wont do well after the twilight movies are out, and I pray she doesn't ever write again. : ) anyway, your slide was freaking amazing. made me laugh so hard my dog started barking. What's funny as that half the girls that love Edward, wouldn't know what to do with a man if one landed naked in their room. -_-
JUST saying.

I'm actually kind of scared of those fangirls. I've read articles about murders over that damned book. And it's not even worth it, with a story that has little to no plot, illogical characters, and absolutely no care for reasoning, it's a stupid thing to be obsessed about

If they were online articles, I think a lot of that has been made up/exaggerated upon. Though fangirls did make Robert Patterson (Edward) cry, so who knows.
But yeah. I think what's different about Twilight fans is that most fandoms its a small fringe of crazies, Twilight, its the majority. I shudder to think about what they're capable of. XD

This opened a whole new light that I didn't completly understand about the book.
BUT I have some questions: What sort of project was it? Why Twilight?
π: 0 β©: 1
NiranAroon In reply to Crystal2Cat [2009-11-05 03:42:33 +0000 UTC]
Nah, almost everyone has been cool about it. I'm actually really impressed by the fans who HAVE posted here not jumping me or anything. I'm glad I got you thinking of some different aspects of the book! You should try reading Meyer's FAQs about the books, what she says is horrible.
I'm a computer science major (emphasis in animation), the project itself was supposed to be a slide show of some sorts, but since we were allowed to use flash, or other programs, I decided to play around with it. I chose Twilight because it wasn't that long ago that I read the first book, and my friend and I had already been poking around other peoples writing reviews and commentary on the book, so I had a large arsenal at my disposal. Flash is a tedious program, and I wanted to enjoy it, so I though making fun of Twilight would be a fun way to make the time pass.
Honestly, this is the highlight of the class for me. A lot of people complain about me 'wasting my time' but I think critical thinking is a good use of time, supporting your opinion, being able to find like opinions. In addition I did something artistic, got a better command of a difficult program that I will need for school and work in the future. I think that's time quite well spent!
XD That probably answers your question x10, but there you go! And thanks again, I'm really happy you enjoyed it!

Haha, this made me laugh. XD It thoroughly entertained me until the end. And the comments you exemplified are just typical of the fangirls... and some of them scared me and scarred me. I died a little on the inside. XD
I read the Twilight books before it became a disgusting fad... and I have to say that I'm probably not going to touch them again for a looooooong time. I just don't see how it can be the greatest book in the world... it's obviously not. When I first read it, it was just a light read and I did like it when it first came out (I am slightly ashamed). But then the fad started evolving and then I started getting an "eehhhh" attitude about it--because it was WAY overdone. Maybe these fangirls need to broaden their library? Really, it doesn't take much to find a better book out there.
Fortunately, I have discovered different stories including vampires that are wayyy better. I'm finding I like the "traditional" vampires more. Or vampires that are bloodier, more cynical aka non-sparkling and non-vegetarian ones.
(I read that comment on this deviation earlier that Twilight fangirl left... I honestly laughed out loud.)
My only suggestion is maybe word-choice... would your professor be fine using words like "preggers" and such. XD (Though I must admit, it does add to the humor). I look forward to the complete project, though.
