Description I needed to make some sort of presentation for my online class, and we're allowed to use flash.. so there you go.

O.o I wonder if I should be worried about fangirls attacking me? OH WELL!

Anyway, there is some sound.. will be more later. YOU HAVE TO CLICK THINGS, and/or roll over them, in order for things to happen.

UPDATE:
I just read a PDF essay discussing Buffy vs Bella as female protagonists in vampire fiction. Its interesting, and fun, and I thought I'd share it for those who actually read the artist comments: [link]

I agree. =3 People liking it is fine, but all that 'this is the best book ever written' and general rabidness has just gotta go.

I thought the whole 'vampire baseball' thing was hilarious too, though I doubt Meyer so much has a conscious good idea, so much as lucked into it.

Thank you. ^^

Yeah, it also translated beautifully to film (we went to see it for lulz). Fun idea. And honestly, I like the vegetarian attempts, the Cullen parents are hilarious. The romance just killed it. At least Anakin and Padme took half a movie to grow close...

LOL

I'm not entirely opposed to vegetarian vampires, but I much prefer Laurel K. Hamilton's, and Anne Rice's versions.

There's a lot more than romance wrong with that movie, and the books. *shakes head*

But ah well.

You're welcome! Twilight sucks, man. I specially liked the part of the "superficial love" that is the thing that bothers me the most about that damn book.

Yeah. Completely agree. It has even less sense in the movie.

Hahaha you made my day Today I was depressed due to the lack of knowledge in my school and well while looking at the new releases in my local library, it was PLAGUED by those awful books with cheap photo covers geez! And I was hoping so hard to find InkHeart or at least the new poetry book of Rowling but NOOOOOOOOO everything has to be those fucking books for girls with cheap bastard boyfriends -_- I just hope Lestat never ever finds a TwilightFan 'cause I'm sure he's going to implode

I'm glad I brightened things up for you! =3

Yeah, the young adult section tends to be difficult to look through. It's nice that vampires and fantasy have had a boom, but when the boom is cheap crap, and some barely half decent things, it just makes the original fans look like crap. XP

You'll probably have better luck with adult horror or fantasy.

No way! By any chance do you have the link for this? I mean wow awesome, I was hoping Rowling said something, you know the fandom of Twilight trashing HP, oh well Rowling it's always the pacifist in these subjects
But wow SK?! Nice
And yeah that book until now it's kicking ass!

Stephen King's bashing is immediately followed by the retarded reaction of Twilight fans... They're rabid-ness is likely the reason why more influential people aren't coming out and saying just how bad this book is. I'm really disappointed by some people... Though I never expected Rowling to say anything. She's probably better off not voicing her opinion. If anything, it might hurt her since at least a chunk of her fans are also HP fans.

Awesomely done!

I still like Twilight because it is well written with interesting characters and plots, but I totally get what you mean by all the faults! I've always though Edward was creepy... That's why Jacob is better, ha ha. I just like his character too much to hate the series

There where so many thing that would have made it better, but oh well, what's done is done.

Oh, but you know what bugs me just as much as the random increase in fans for the series? It's the amount of people who liked the series, but BECAUSE of the fandom decided to hate it. Really, they just hate the fans, which is totally understandable.

So my final note to everyone: Go read Harry Potter cause it rocks, and pick up the Host, the book Meyer should really be getting credit for.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NiranAroon In reply to 104lbOfInsanity [2009-02-13 01:49:50 +0000 UTC]

I have to disagree, I think Twilight was horribly written, and the characters completely lack dimension. XD Of course, I'd obviously feel that way considering the side I'm on.

People shouldn't like or hate things because of fads. Conforming is just as bad as conforming to the nonconformists. I think it's getting to the point where both the people who like and hate the series need to start shutting up about it. XD I mean, I'm always happy to discuss the book, but so many conversations with no relevence to Twilight devolve into "I hate it..." "IT'S THE BEST THING EVER WRITTEN AND HAS NO FAULTS" and everything in between. At least, on the forum I'm on, that's what happens.

XD Good final note, even if I'm not a fan of either. Like 'em or hate 'em, Harry Potter did good things to the Young Adult reading section, and Meyer gave pleanty of people thinks to feel passionate about- some of that passion is just more homicidal, and angry than others.

I am faving this!!!

I agree with you that liking Twilight isn't a bad thing, if fact I was actually going to attempt to read it for the sake of a couple friends who enjoy the books... but then the fantards killed it....

Also I'm big into occult stuff, old myths and legends, and I was absolutely offended at the way Twilight portrayed vampires...

The "OMG SO HAWT!!" part I'll give Meyer because that's a generally accepted myth, enemies with werewolves yes I'd heard that before, super abilities of course, pale yeah that sounds right, then I hit the sparkling....

WTF?!?!?!?!?!? Since when do vamps SPARKLE instead of DIE in the sun....

Also I found Bella just an annoying excuse to have several hots guys in the story, why else would they be there but to chase her?

And the fantards... stop calling yourself Mrs.Cullen okay it's not cute/funny/normal/sane...

But this wasn't supposed to be a rant so I'll rap this up...

I'm faving this and I found it totally hilarious thank you for making it ^^

Spoiler warning perhaps? Even if you don't like Twilight, it'd be nice to warn those who do.

I only got a portion through you presentation, due to the spoilers, but what I saw was funny and insightful-- though, a bit harsh. I like that you saw through a lot of things many did not.

However I have one more suggestion- criticize the book, not the fans. "If your problem is that you like Twilight, I'm sure they're coming out with medication for that soon." That is rather disrespectful, don't you think? Everyone likes different things and its not like this is nazism we're talking about. Its a book. Shallow, unrealistic as it is, it is just a book and to insult people who enjoy it is childish and rude.

This was not meant to come off as a fan girl rant, rather just one person to another. Thank you.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NiranAroon In reply to lost-mind [2008-12-29 20:48:10 +0000 UTC]

I see what you mean, but I think it's fairly obvious that I'm going to talk about the content of Twilight in a Twilight presentation. If people who haven't read the book yet don't want spoilers, they need to pay more attention to what they're doing, because the content of my presentation is no surprise.

I agree that I'm extremely harsh with Meyer's books. If it were one or two things I'd over look them. My own favorite novels have plenty a screw up, but because of the quantity of problems, and particularly the way Meyer handles them, I'm harsh. "I like that you saw through a lot of things many did not. " Thank you, but that credit goes to a lot of people who were looking at the book with a critical eye. ^^

I don't think that's disrespectful to the fan's, actually. It's meant jokingly, and in good humor. Don't mistake poking fun as an attack. I'm well aware people have the right to enjoy whatever they want, I don't even actually consider LIKING Twilight to be a bad thing. It's an enjoyable read. I don't like the people who, rather than insisting they liked it, insist it's flawless. You can like something despite it having flaws, but don't pretend something glaring with problems is the best thing since Shakespeare. I'm sorry if you found that offensive, but not one of the fans who have commented here have mentioned feeling that way, and I'd have apologized, and explained myself if they did. I /do/ have a problem with a lot of the fans, but it runs a lot deeper, and is plenty more complicated than if they just happen to like it.

In that context, after explanation, I believe I see where your humor was coming from. Thank you for your wonderful reply.
