I never thought about this before. Gamzee and Karkat were friends, so were the Highblood and Signless friends too? But the Highblood killed Sigless...but Gamzee tried to kill Karkat...ARGGHH this is so confusing!

Actually it wasn't the Highblood that killed Signless directly. He hda ordered the Exicutioner to kill Signless at his sermon

I think this is my favorite piece of Grand Highblood art that I've seen. You rarely ever see him or Gamzee looking morose about anything, but when you think about it, they both must have had moments of solemnity in their lives.

I didn't appreciate Gamzee until after he was 'dealt with'. I went back and reread his logs and totally fell in love with the character. He's just so pitiable.

The only problem I have with this beautiful pic.
Is the characters in it. Because in reality (Or...homestuck, reality?) those two would never been seen with each other. Unless The Grand Highblood was killing/torturing The Sufferer.

This is... so amazing that I actually have to write a comment so I could tell you how amazing this is which i usually never do cuz I'm one helluva lazy bum, not even two snorlaxes squared could compete to.
A small snippet of something that holds so much more, good lineart, coloring and composition wonderfully comprise the atmosphere of the tragic yet fundamental events about to take place in this future.
Yeah... I'm probably a bit overEX-------CITED about all this, but hey, that's that. If something manages to stirr something up inside me then I make sure to have the responsible party know. ;D

This really is a gorgeous picture. The colors and atmosphere are calm and beautiful, yet you can see and feel the tension and sadness between the Highblood and the Signless/Sufferer.

There's a few possibilities for this picture to be plausible, besides Nirrum's explanation.
The one that's the most plausible, in my opinion, is this occurring when trolls were still a peaceful race. I kind of prefer this because it means this lovely scenario isn't limited to headcanon.

But you also have to remember that even though if they might be younger. The Grand Highblood was raised to feel that the lowerbloods were inferior and with The Sufferers Mutant blood, it wouldn't help much at all.

My theory was heavily based on the idea that this was pre-scratch/peaceful Alternia. However, I'm ignoring a huge part of canon with this theory until I understand a certain canon detail better.
If we get into head canon though, you can argue that basically anything is possible, usually until it conflicts with canon. There are a lot of theories one can make, the majority based on canon, that could explain the scenario of Nirrum's picture. That would make for a really long comment though.

This is going under the assumption (and headcanon) that the Sufferer hasn't become a heretic yet and that they're significantly younger and much more carefree. S'why the Grand Highblood doesn't have facepaint and has much smaller horns.
