Description
I tried a bit of a different style this time and of course it had to be Undertale fan art since I'm pretty much in love with this game right now.Since I really like Muffets soundtrack and I listen a lot to it (this version of it to be exact: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HW-Jr4β¦ ) recently I choose to do a painting of her.
As always I would be really glad if you could leave me some constructive comments.
I hope you like it^^

Your Muffet is so cute!
can't think of much to say for constructive criticism...maybe the folds in the clothing need some more work? but it's a really minor issue.
I love the style of shading here!
not to mention the colour palette! x3 *in love*

It's great to hear that (since you're one of the reasons that I even got into this fandom) :3
I actually tried to go a bit more colourful than in the previous pictures but yeah it still got pretty dark xD
Oh and that style of shading is pretty much my attempt at some kind of pseudo cell shading (aka trying to find a faster way to paint that doesn't look too bad).

This is so cute!!Β Even with a sinister feel to it, I like to imagine this spider girl has a sort of Tim Burton innocence about her!

Thank you, I'm really happy about the Tim Burton comparission (since I really love his works).

You're welcome!
Ever seen Shane Acker's "9"?
Tim Burton also did that movie

Hi from ProjectComment !Β
I really love the way you have drawn and coloured this! I like Muffet's theme a lot too. I've been listening it to a lot lately.Β
My favourite parts about this artwork is the painting style. The lights and shadows on the clothing and the web are also a nice touch. The way that she fades away at the bottom of the picture makes the artwork look ominous, yet her expression looks cheeky; I really like that.Β
I'm not really sure what to say for constructive criticism because I'm very impressed by how amazing this art is!

Hey - member here.
First things first, I like what you've done with the cobweb - it seems to be simply done, but the highlights on it really bring it out and make it stand out against the stark darkness of the rest of the background. You've done a good job with capturing its essence. Also, I really like the shading that you've done on her clothing; I'm honestly jealous of how you've pulled it off, because I've never been the best at it and you can see every crinkle or fold in her... dress? It's great! And her eyes seem to have an exotically deadly feel to them. At least, I think so anyway. Haha
One thing that I'm not particularly feeling that much, is her nose - I think that in my viewpoint it's lighter than the rest of the picture's linework so it's sticking out a bit more to me because of that, so I reckon that it would look better if you added a bit of 'depth' or dark lines to it in order to fit in with the overall picture. And it might have been good to fit her feet into the picture too, by squeezing them in to the bottom of the image. But that's just me being too picky, and overall I think that you've done a very good job

I'm not really used to using any outlines since I mostly avoid doing them (they are just so much work) so thank's a lot for your critique on that^^
I kind of like how the feet fade into the darkness but I could add them in as very faint silhouettes. That could look quite nice, I think.

To be honest, I like the look of her legs fading out too but the faint addition of them, as if they're barely there, would look really nice in my opinion. But I do like the picture, and you've inspired me to do my own Muffet. Haha xD

I like it I like how you color it. It give me feelings that this character is solid and fresh. Looking at this makes me understand more that this way of coloring and giving highlight can give those kinds of feels. thank you.
I never know Undertale 'cause I'm not a gamer anymore...so I kinda thinking 'if she was dancing, why did her two standing legs just stood still? Were they trapped in the spider web? Why that part concealed in darkness?' Oh but her other hands were moving...carrying drinks and doughnut...and that's interestingΒ Β Her expression invite me in...will it be dangerous if I have a cup of tea with her?

Niruja In reply to yui-minatsuki [2016-02-05 02:17:24 +0000 UTC]
Well the title is mostly a reference to her soundtrack, since that's what it's called.
I mostly concealed the feat for two reasons the feet would be pretty cramped in at the very bottom and I just thought it looks kind of nice this way (and well there's probably also a bit of laziness behind it).
If it would be dangerous to have a cup of tea with her would heavily depend on whether you bought something to eat from her beforehand or not.
