Fantastic image What I want to know is, where did you get your hands on the Andromeda models. I've been trying to find them for years, and to my knowledge Tan J. never released that particular ship to the public.

Can someone give me a link to whoever made those battlestars?

Science fiction is the essence of human imagination. In other words, I love the picture! Love the Battlestar Galactica designed ships.

It looks good, but I have one critisism.
Though there may be alot of ambient light in the picture, there is nothing for it to reflect off of, so the shadows on the battlestars should be extreme. If you watch the show, you see that half of the ships are usually covered in black.

I like the newly designed Battlestars. Where did you get them from?

The image captures a very poetic view, very well done

Very cool, but I feel that the shadows on the ships needs to be a bit darker.

when you say shadows on the ships, do you me internal shadows, ie; crack and corners, or . . . the exterior lighting, ie; The dark side of the ships?
A lot of things come into play when rendering a scene like this, though the scene is far from perfect, I think the shadows came out well.
If you are looking at the ships shadows, seeing how there is an Occlusion shader added to the ships as well as it being lit via radiosity, coupled with the use of Spot lights with large shadow maps, I would say the shadows with-in the ships are great.
However if you are referring to the scene lighting casting shadows, I think that is fine as well. A nebula that size and that close is giving off a tremendous amount of light. and what you can't see in the forground is a planet for bounce lighting.
Lighting a space scene is tricky due to the mis-interpretations of Hollywood. Where filming a scene always lends ambient light to a side of the ship (or planet) which should be dark . . . . Anyway this sort of image capture has carried over into CGI lighting as well . . . . which has been a thorn in my side as of late . . but we go along with what is expected.
However when possed with an obvious lighting display, as in this image, and to totally disreguard the light bouncing from a planet is something we should look out for and try not to miss.

Lol well I was referring to the dark side of the ships being lit by what I thought was arbitrary ambient light. I wasn't aware that there was supposed to be a planet there. I guess then that it might help to make the offscreen lightsource a slightly different color, in order to make its nature more obvious. Where did I miss a lighting element in that image by the way?

"I wasn't aware that there was supposed to be a planet there."
Implied only . . . That's the only logical conclusion for having Ambient lighting where no light source is visually evident. As I said I argued this point many times before and lost to abstract reasoning. People want to see the models, if there was no ambient light source you would only have a backlit image. more realist, but a visual let-down
"Where did I miss a lighting element in that image by the way?"
The Planet, in the forground, but that be done in PhotoShop (very well crafted) it's kinda hard to reverse design bounce lighting.

I suppose I can't argue with that, though I suppose I would've made the ambient light a little less bright, but then, you can't please everyone, right?
Still a great picture though.

U S politicians just really are clue people with money that have been given too much power and so they abuse it as often as the voters will allow them to... then we vote some other mindless moron with money into office.
