Description
A World War II issue Cal .30 M1 Carbine, by the Rock-Ola company, circa late 1943. original barrel, reciever, and stock. Damn excellent condition. Came with an original carrying case, dated 1944, a magazine pouch attached to the buttstock also dated 1944, and 3 magazines. Fitted with a rear peep sight after the war. Fires great, little muzzle wear. Just like the one my grandfather carried into combat during the Battle of the Bulge. I feel like Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes...more pics to come.Related content

I would just mention that the Carabine is an E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T weapon, oldie but still precise!
My first range-finding with it in 2004 (was it 25 meter distance from the target?) has been scored with 15 shots of 15, all in the middle of the page!
And later on 2005, when I found range the M16, got only 3 of 10 (lol, after I've flew the target away), all were scattered.
Bottom line: carabine (still) rulez

Sweet! I own a war-era Mauser 98k. Got a kick to it but it's in wonderful condition.

You wanted me to comment my comment:
I don't like weapons (i liked them until age 11, maybe). I don't like war (some people obviously seem to, isn't that so absurd?). I don't like 'Fires great' - that's not a toy or fireworks.

That is a great picture. The love the lighting. The shadows add a great effect to the photo. The American flag adds a great effect to the picture.

The clips when they poped out when *pling just like erka said my grandpa was and officer in WW2 and told me all about WW2.
Also they were one of the best non sniper rifles back then. I love the picture though very patriotic it helps me get over Sept 11 and remember this country kicks ass!

umm..how patriotic, but nice in its way too...
Those M1 were nice rifles, except for two things, you had to empty the whole clip before reloading, and when the clip was empty, it would make a distinctive sound like *pling* when it flew out..dunno if its true, but thats what they say in all those wargames nowadays

Lovely. Great composition, and just, really cool. Although I've never really had much of an affinity for firearms, this is really sweet.
