15sec
How to make this. I sit on a beach in the philippines with my mini tripod and set my camera to make 10 or more pictures in a row with a exposure of 15sec. Than you need a bit luck that the lightning than flashes when your camera make the picture.

wow! This is incredible! Say, I don't know if you'd want to do this or not, but I do pastels of photographs. Would you mind if I did a reproduction of this at some point? Hey awsum pic dude ive figure out how to take lightning usein a simple and simillar technique to you but i have a problem i get alot of grain in mine my iso is set to 400 i can lower it down to 100 but if ido then my cameradoesnt pic up the light so well even with an unfortunant low apature, im useing a DSLR olympus e510 any hints from you or anyone on this page wouldbe very much appreciated, anyway dude that is an awsum picture and very welll composed and as you say by luck, but even so over the ocea, its beutifal. nice work

i have some grain in my photo too.
I dont know what aperture my cam had, coz it was a little canon 800is.
If i would take that with my DSLR Canon EOS400,
i would set the cam on iso100/ 5-30sec/ f4.0.
If you had no lightning on the photo but the photo is to light, reduce the time.
If you had a lightning an the photo and its to light. so take a higher F number.
Coz the lightning flash less than a second and that can you only adjust with the aperture (F).
But if its dark i just try until the photo is good.

ah yer my iso was 400 so that could be my problem cause my settings were basicly that, ah wel there will be another lighting storm so i shall try your theory and see how it goes. thanx heaps dude it wont be forgotten
