Download for full detail, it's a really big file!Holy fucking hell I spent so long on this I don't even remember how long it took. Days and days and hours and hours. It's been a long road but oh my god I am so proud of this and I'm so incredibly happy to have it finished and I'm very satisfied with it!! 'u'
Layout image for Arkan, as well as a big badass piece of art that he truly deserves, being one of my oldest and most dear characters. Fun fact, I found my first-ever art of him from back in 2007, if you can believe that - his character has changed a ton over that time, but his basic idea (shadow demon who's actually super polite and protective) has always been there and. Arkan is one of my oldest, most special babes and I love him a lot. So he needed the awesome art.
Anyway! I'm gonna go die now, this piece is finally done.

OH MAN, I can tell you put a ton of work into this! It turned out AWESOME! I don't know what I like more: that gorgeous sky, the awesome layout, the nice bronzey color scheme... everything just looks so polished and nice!

The amount of detail that has gone into this is astounding.
Arkan looks amazingly detailed without the addition of everything else beautiful in this piece.
The ring of pentacles really makes this image pull together and I love he almost stained glass
structure of everything.

Aw yiss I have the time to comment on this now.
This is absolutely amazing at it's finest, and upon scanning the details, I give you the utter most credit for not copy& pasting the pattern in some areas. It's actually really hard to tell that without looking real hard, so kudos to you & then some, lovebug!
I have to say though, I'm real taken back by the background that Arkan is behind. The colors are the most disgustingly amazing thing I have ever seen, not even joking about that. The atmosphere it creates it gorgeous, and I just love the sun setting behind the horizon. The clouds are definitely jaw-dropping, and I haven't a single bad thing to say about the background.
Arkan, the handsome devil (ohhohoho semi-intentional pun. I'm hilarious) himself, definitely looks wicked, through and through. Seems as if your style has changed a bit? 'o' Regardless of if it has or not, I see some improvement~ <3 I adore the way you drew his backlegs, and this is the first time I'm seeing him with his arm bandages unraveled? There's definitely a dramatic element to being able to see his brands underneath them for once. There's something very quiet and majestic about him in this, as if he's making it fully well known as to what he is. And I absolutely love that. The lighting is gorgeous, and this whole piece is just 10/10.

This looks so amazing, Nix. Omg. I can't even--what are words? o.e The detail on this is phenomenal. Arkan looks great. The background looks great. All the designs look great. Just... woooow. ouo This must have taken a lot of patience and dedication. I would've probably given up by the time I got to making all those patterns. =O But omg, Nix. Your art never ceases to amaze me, and this just BLEW ME AWAY.

You can see so, so, so much improvement, Nix. I love the whole feel this whole picture gives off. It's such a calm feel and hust. Wowie.
As Kiwi said, I don't know how you had all the patience for that symmetry. It looks so time consuming, but you did such a gorgeous job.

The symmetry isn't really symmetrical! I had to adjust a lot of things because I didn't know how to get it nicely mirrored, so there's actually a lot of botched things that are visible up close >3> But I tried aha.
