Description
Available as a print! Print shopI've been working on this on and off for a while. It will be a print for London MCM next weekend.
This painting is a small dedication to *Annissina who requested a purple sun scene yonks ago and has had to keep reminding me since
The title is simply from the card game 'Go fish' whereby if you don't have the card a contestant asks for, you tell them to Go Fish, which means they have to pick up another card from the deck. This little fella in his boat is struggling to catch any fish!
Also, the giant bowing statues in the background are purposefully similar to the little figures in The epic voyage

would you mind if I featured this in a majestic artwork compilation that I'm working on and wish to post online?

Could you possibly give me more information before I say yes?

Yup. I'm on my iPhone so can't send a link but I basically make a slideshow, add mucic (on this one I'm going to use DK Aquatic Ambience) then I post it on YouTube and tumblr. I post links to everyones DA page and list what image they created in the description box. Once this is complete, I notify everybody involved. It takes a couple of weeks to complete because I try to hold out and wait for a response from everyone that I contact.

Looks like an anthro version of the argonaths in the background

I agree! It is probably influenced by the Argonaths, the statues at the valley of the end waterfall from Naruto and possibly the statue(s) from the chronicles of Riddick (those usually stand alone but there are many of them all over the planet so that it can wipe out the inhabitants). There are no doubt a few other references I'm missing from some books I've read in the past, all just as awesomely nerdy

That's how the mind works If I look at my own art I keep finding references all over which I haven't thought of. A lot of SciFi and steampunk but also things like LOTR, samurai era Japan and swords and sandals themes and such things. And sometimes there are other people pointing it out for me as well.

Yeah, a lot of the time we draw on the parts of things we like the most, that's how most artists create their own worlds and characters. We all start from tracing and similar copying techniques and we learn to apply what we've learn later. It's a pretty cool recycling system.

Yes, it's hard to be original in 2013 Sometimes it feels like everything has already been done. Including the disgusting, blasphemous or horrid ideas.

Yes, or weird crossovers of obscure characters.
