I'm looking at portraits on DeviantArt trying to gain the inspiration to revive a novel I wrote 20 years ago. You, sir, are on the List of Inspirational Artists! As to said novel, here's a bit:
The lion crouched like a football player and caught the front grill. The car jolted to a stop.
I stared in awe out the windshield. The lion stared back, his chops stretching into a huge grin. The limousine shuddered with its effort to roll forward. I stomped the accelerator again. The Lincoln shook but did not budge.
“Hah! You challenge the Lion of Olympus?” yelled the enormous feline.
Lion of Olympus? That was an epithet of Hercules --
The lion-man lifted. His shaggy black mane vanished beneath the hood, then I found myself looking up at the leaves of the trees.
Pens and a scratch pad fell from the dashboard. A yellowing old map flapped down from a sun visor. Through the windshield I saw clouds and purple sky. Metal popped and buckled, and with a crash, the car landed on its sword-ventilated roof.

It seems that Herc' is more attached to the Nemean Lionskin than the myths would suggest.
