Description I've been spending a lot of time playing around with inking drawings on a Wacom tablet and I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of it. Here is the full drawing of Stump, that I posted earlier, but this time with the background and all of the other characters included. I'm about 95% sure that this will appear in the comic almost exactly as it looks right now and the plan is for this to be the first, big reveal of Stump in the comic.

The three police officers are (hopefully) going to be returning characters in the story and in this scene they are all standing outdoors in a construction supply lot. If it looks like Stump is not making eye contact with the two officers in front of him, it's because he's not, he's actually looking at something large directly behind them that will be revealed in the next panel.

Defiantly gives a solid idea of how compact yet large Stump is.

There are so many ideas here that I love. I like the everyman quality of Stump, I love the really beautifully proportioned nature of yor work which especially comes into play when Stump interacts with other characters. The shortness, thickness and strength of the character are communicated in a naturalistic way which makes the fantasy feel real.

Side note: British bodybuilder and strongman, Andrew Raynes' nickname is Stumpy.

I've always envisioned Stump as sort of a "working class" superhero. His almost complete lack of physical and financial resources kind of helps to balance out his extreme power levels.

I'll have to do some research on this Andrew Raynes guy, thank you!

Man your proportions are crazy accurate. That's how I want my art to be.

Nice! Are you just drawing with a lighter color for the chest hair and the fur in the other guy's collar? It looks like pencil shading!

I left the pencil lines in place underneath the inks, they are just darkened up in Photoshop with a levels adjustment. I decided to attempt the inking because I was losing too much contrast when trying to color the pencil lines by themselves. Ideally, I am hoping to keep both inks and pencil lines in place. I think the pencils add a greater range of expression and texture than just ink lines by themselves.

Very nice. I hope Stump stays barefoot through the entire comic.

He most likely will. Stump has a very unusual foot size (the length of his feet is within normal range, but the width and overall thickness makes it almost impossible to find a pair of shoes that would fit), so he would have to have shoes specially made, which gets extremely expensive. I've always envisioned Stump as kind of a "working class" superhero, so he simply wouldn't have the funds for something like that, at least not right away. But don't worry, being barefoot has been a staple of Stump's design from the very beginning, I don't plan on changing that for a while.
