Description
Edit - oops, I hope this didn't pop up in your inboxes againGold eyes, pale skin - what is this? Twilight?
Nope, it’s Lieutenant Commander Data who’s probably my favourite Star Trek character so far
And… I can’t believe I did realistic
This took so long and it’s so… uncolourful! I couldn’t use all my anime tricks to make it shiny. I guess this style needs different tricks. Some feedback would be appreciated.

I could hardly believe this to be da-kasha art when I first saw it in my message centre... ("what kind of glitch is this? stupid dA...")
but, it is truly of the porridge. wow.
I love the eyebrows...
and actually, I doubt this actually needs any shinies or other gimmicks. in fact, I think it would benefit from just being darker and more toned-down...

... that means either my or your monitor is screwed up.
I opened dA on my new pc to find that my "nightfall" picture was ugly and far lighter and "Skater Casual" was desaturated and... also ugly.
fuuuuck. I think it's my monitor.

I wouldn't be surprised if my monitor wasn't showing everything correctly but it sounds like your one plain needs calibrating D: I'm sure there should be options somewhere....

Hmmm, I don't know what to say here, but I'll give it a go.
The stone-marble-ish colour of his face make it look like he's a sculpture. The lips too. But what makes him look real are the part below his eyes, the hint of a cheek fold in between. His nose looks really sculpted, in a good way. And everything looks very smooth.
The purple gives off a rather glowy effect amongst all the black, I suppose that's a good thing.
Ah well. That's all, I guess. Told cha I'm not good at it

Cool, you like Frank Herbert, too? I found this Herbert quote online somewhere. I think it might be from his Biography or something...

Read the Dune series up to God Emperor of Dune. Fantastic writer, fantastic series. Though the Dune books seem to have a way of petering out to less than satisfying endings

Oh! Yeah, I loved Emperor of Dune, but never got through Heretics. It did peter-out to an unsatisfying ending kinda... But that's not true about the Brian Herbert ones. For instance, have you read Paul of Dune? It's soooooo amazing! Also, the Houses prequels are incredibly good. The writing quality is really high, but not quite as epic as Frank's originals. But still, you should definitely read them. They're super entertaining.

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll get to them... eventually. I'm kinda overloading my reading list atm, WoT 6 and ASOIAF 2 just came in the post and they're bloody huge 0__0 and I'm trying to make my way through the ever epic Foundation Saga while watching TNG S1
praise holidays!
