Description Plotts are small aliens native to the moon Skurrow, which orbits a large desert planet. Skurrow has a higher gravity than on earth, a very thick, oxygen-rich atmosphere and is teeming with life. Hundreds of species of plant-like organisms cover the moon’s surface. Some Skurrowian organisms play the parts of animals and plants alike. One of these is the plott, a small creature reassembling a cross between a pot plant and an octopus. Seven pairs of compound eyes constantly scan the forest for threats or food. The plott’s cylindrical body is roughly one meter in diameter. From around the plott’s top grow eight broad arms which serve as “fruit” collectors and photosynthesisers. The robust body is supported by six thick legs which have evolved to cope with the plott’s endless journey through the swamps of Skurrow. The front pair of the ancestral eight legs have evolved into strong grasping organs, and are always in motion: grabbing small animals, scratching tuber-like plants out of the ground, or plucking fruit like parts from pseudo-trees. Picked food is placed directly into the intestines through a slit under the body. Because food is so plentiful on Skurrow, its inhabitants can afford to waste food or have quick metabolisms. The plott is no exeption. Plotts don’t not require sleep; the sunlight they filter in from their leaf-like top arms gives them the energy needed for the plott’s eternal movement. The plott is about as intelligent as an octopus and thinks like an ape. It is capable of solving difficult problems; mainly ones that have to do with getting at food.
