Description Been a while, hasn't it?

Well here we are at the final arc of Bleach!

Get off the damn bed NOW.
And if I don't?
POW. BAM! Straight to the moon!
Okay, i'm going to fight this guy, anyone want to come along?
No.
Nope.
Too busy eating seemingly stale bread.
You just want me to clean up the mess while you guys be lazy asses, am I right?
Yep.
Totally.
Go do what main characters are suppose to do: clean up after everybody else's mess.

So Ichigo and his new arrancar looking friend go out and fight!

Look, you here to avenge Aizen? Well whoop-de-F*cking-doo. Look, you Arrancars had 17 months to do so and blew it. Not the best timing.
Avenge? Yes. Arrancar? No. For Aizen? Don't even F*cking kid me. We had enough of him and his manga- defying logic
Making 2 plus 2 equal fish.....was all part of my plan!
Wait, what are you here for?
Recognize this? It's a quincy cross
OH MY SPIRIT KING....Your a QUINCY-ARRANCAR
What? No!!! What did I JUST SAY?!?!? That's it! I'm killing you!
Could really use a topic change right now!
Your wish shall be granted!
Thank you Kubo! You're getting better at this.
Well, I do learn from the mistakes of Kishimoto!

Meanwhile, Ikkaku learns that the townspeople are be kidnapped.
Why would someone want to kidnap townspeople?

I think I may have the answer to that Ikkaku
There is no need to worry...We are not at war with the Fire Nation....You never want to leave Ba-sing-Sae...You don't want to ask questions about the outside world...Everything is alright...

And after that, the Captain General gets some very disturbing visitors
:captain-general What do you want?
We have been waiting 1000 years to do this! [link]

Captain-general Why does Security suck around here?!?!? Even a group of human children got past our security? What is Soi-Fon doing that is more important than security?
YORUICHI-SAMA PICTURES!!![link]

Nice to do this again. Probably will do Fairy Tail's this week.

Well, if they were strong enough to get past everybody into the Yama's private quarters (which took Ichigo and Co. AN ENTIRE ARC TO DO SO) then they must be strong. They have been planning their revenge with the Sith for a thousand years!

Knowing Kubo, it'll take 1, maybe 2 years for Ishida to switch sides. I guess its finally come down for Ishida to put on his "BIG BOY RIVAL" shoes, turn EMO, have a big bout with Ichigo that leads up to an ensuing fight in which their feelings are conveyed through their fist and-Oh....crap. (It's suddenly gotten very "Naruto" in here, or G Gundam. Idk.)

4 years to complete this arc
Ishida joins in 2 years

That sounds pretty legit.

Don't make fun of G Gundam. They did it right.

So, yeah....once again all of SS has to be Worf'd so those dudes can declare war in a stylish way.

But hey! Not all of the chapter was bad. I really loved how Ichigo kicked Ivan out, while Inoue opened the window like they do that all the time.

They are the commanding Quincies. They hide their identity to keep the advantage of the element of surprise. Ivan was probably the frontal assault and a warning of what is to come if Soul Society did not surrender.

Quincies? Really? That's the best you could come up with, Kubo?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NoctusInfinity In reply to EvanSol919 [2012-02-22 22:16:17 +0000 UTC]

Actually, this is a good idea as a last arc. Quincies were only briefly touched on in the beginning of this manga. Remember what Rukia said way back when during the first time we met Uryu:

We were forced to kill many Quincies because if we didn't, the balance of living souls and dead souls would tilt uncontrollably and cause the apocalypse.

This arc makes it look like a whole Jedi vs Sith revenge scheme without the whole "George Lucas and Hadyen Christiansan" business. Just 2 mortal and classic enemies about to take up arms against each other in a cut-throat war.

Another reason to like the Fullbring Arc too. Kubo focuses on what made the story what it is: The classical humans get powers, fights hollows, and the Quincy-Soul Reaper hatred. Unlike Naruto, which kept going up and up without stop and forgetting it's roots, Bleach's part 2 focuses mainly on what built up it in the beginning. A salute to you Tite Kubo for remembering what made Bleach a classic!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NoctusInfinity In reply to EXBlooDDemoN [2012-02-24 23:47:03 +0000 UTC]

Yes, because it had a much more simpler storyline and didn't go over the top. Think about it.

Remember the last time a manga decided to continue with the main character having all of his powers from part 1 and kept increasing them? The story kept upping the power-ups and fight scenes until it all came crashing down on itself. The author went from getting a good part one and even beginning of part 2 to every chapter having a ridiculously overpowered character show up and blow up half the battlefield, who could survive practically anything with their bag if infinite plot devices. The author threw out every classic thing about the series just to get a better rating that week.

That is Naruto.

The Fullbring Arc was the best way to start off a part two in Bleach. No over the top fights, no ridiculous power-ups that resulted in destroying the battlefield, no enemies that seemed to have infinite number of plot devices to keep him around, and it kept to the classic "Human with borrowed powers" motif Bleach was known to have back in the day.

I was glad that the Soul Reapers didn't show up for a very long time. It just seems that they are overused, while humans like Orihime and Chad wind up being underused. This was their arc as well as the Xcutioners. It explains that there was not only other humans in the world with powers, but other Substitute Soul Reapers as well. Did you really think that out of the billions of people on the planet, 1 guy just happened to get Soul Reaper powers? I didn't think so.

I only have 2 problems.
1. The fights at the end were too short! Even if you didn't want to see The Xcutioners fight, wouldn't you want to see what new strength the Soul Reapers had? And were you not curious about what other powers Ginjo had when he released Bankai?
2. Making all of the Xcutioners disappear in the end of the arc. At least they should have kept Riruka around! Kubo could have made it so that the remaining members said their goodbyes and apologies in person to Ichigo before leaving.

All and all, Fullbring Arc is very underrated by fans because of their "Soul Reaper" obsession. Soul Reapers are nice, but not every arc has to revolve around them!

EXBlooDDemoN In reply to NoctusInfinity [2012-02-25 06:44:46 +0000 UTC]

No, no, I'm sorry if I sounded rude or anything like that. I asked because you're actually the first one I came across that is actually defending the Fullbring arc and not calling it bullshit and unnecessary. Or making bullshit memes every fucking week, not that I'm calling this meme bullshit, but I guess you know what I mean by bullshit with certain users here in DeviantArt who have no life or whatsoever. Not only that, but it seems Piecetards and Narutards don't know how win an argument without calling you a troll and tell you to fuck off because they can "make fun of Bleach all they fucking want", do they? Oh well...

You know, to tell you the truth, Bleach is actually the first anime/manga that had ever managed to touch me so deeply. Not even old school animes like DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho and Saint Seiya had, especially DBZ, since it's like the godfather of animes or something like that. I like Naruto, Fairy Tail, DBZ and Saint Seiya, but Bleach and Ichigo will always be my favorite anime/manga of all time. I've watched every single episode of the anime, and loved every single one of them, even the Filler episodes.

And to be quite honest, I think Tite Kubo should have continued with the Fullbring arc and finished it the way he wanted. But you see, if these so called "Bleach fans" were actually FANS they wouldn't have complained about it, but NO, they just kept bashing and bashing on the same damn button over and over. To me, a fan isn't allowed to talk shit and complain like they could do better than the mangaka, because for one, most fans are reading it for free (me included). A fan should stick with whatever shit the author throws at them, be it the most cliche or shitty arc in manga history or not. I'm not saying the Fullbringers were cliche, but God, can't people learn how to appreciate something new without judging it so harsh?

And people talk crap about Ichigo not having any personality. Really? Yes, I have to admit that he was a pussy back in the whole Arrancar arc, but now he's back as the true badass he's always been, but still having that tranquil fury when he fought Aizen for the last time. And to tell you the truth, Ichigo has a much better personality than most Shounen protagonists. When Ginjou told him about the whole purpose of the Substitute Shinigami badge, he was still fierce to his belief that Ukitake wasn't trying to manipulate him, and he was really serious when he talked to Yamamoto to let him bring Kuugo's body back to the human world and bury it properly. Fine, he doesn't have any true goal (something I don't get, WHY do people have to bash on Ichigo just because he doesn't wants to become the king of pirates or the hokage? I'll laugh so hard if Naruto doesn't becomes the next hokage at the end of the series, or if Luffy doesn't gets the One Piece), but at least he isn't isn't overly excited about everything and tries so hard to be the center of the attention. I bet Kubo has something big planned for Ichigo at the end of the manga, but only time will answer my questions.

I do agree with you, the whole "welcome to my mundane-ish and boring life" was a nice idea. Different, unique, with just the right amount of comedy, and just like you said, the main character hadn't started overpowered and could cut half of the planet with a Getsuga Tenshou, because that would become too boring in less than five chapters, I bet. It was a nice twist with Ichigo starting again like a high school student (and also introducing new characters, even though they're not that important, it was nice to see more of Ichigo's normal life as a mere human) and then starting getting his powers back slowly with his Fullbring first, and finally getting his Shinigami powers back in the end. And I won't even go into that bullshit that Ichigo's Fullbring sucked, and NO, I never liked Power Rangers, I just thought it was a nice design. Kubo has one of the best Shounen art styles (just go and read the first mangas and compare them to the most recent ones to see the evolution!) and actually the imagination to come up with something new and different, and people still bash him and call him the worst writer of manga history... but oh well, it seems that little kids are more obsessed with a wannabe Ninja with blond hair and pretty blue eyes and Kishimoto's pet and his God armor (Sasuke) and the love child of Mr. Fantastic and Jack Sparrow. I'm sorry if you like One Piece or Naruto, but recently I've been really pissed and irritated with all these Naru/Piecetards.

Now, people saying that Bleach's plot sucks. If I recall it, Goku trains to get stronger, fights an overpowered alien or demon or android, gets his ass kicked, then gets a random powerup and turns SSJ 1000 and uses the Genki Dama, and then the same thing repeats all over in the next arc, the only exception being the Buu saga, but the whole character development with Gohan had went pretty much downhill with the "Goku has to save the planet"... again. Saint Seiya, Seiya gets a near-death experience with every single enemy he faces off, gets a random powerup from Athena, and kills a friggin' Greek God like Hades and Poseidon with just a punch. Now tell me... didn't they have all the same damn story in the past? Why it seems like fans have such high standards nowadays? And God, don't even start with Naruto, because right now he's practically Jesus with the whole full control of Kyuubi. The only thing that's missing is he starting healing blind people and dying as a martyr...

I also agree, I wanted to see Ginjou's full powers when he had released Bankai, and if I'm right, it seemed like Ginjou had full control of his Hollow side. If you noticed it his hair and eyes had changed, but he didn't have a mask like the visoreds or Ichigo, so I definitely think that Ichigo's true Hollow powers does not lies in his mask, although we're not sure if he still has his Hollow. He was perhaps the most interesting Fullbringer and he and Ichigo had really nice interactions before he turned evil, better than Ishida and Renji that's for sure. And I wanted to see Toushiro's Shikai and see if it had any changes at all (Kubo himself stated in that 3 week interview that Toushiro's Bankai is now complete, so...), I wanted to see Renji actually FIGHTING Jackie, and not just beating her with his zanpakutou UNRELEASED for crying out loud. But unfortunately, Kubo had to rush things and give that anti-climatic ending and shitty fight scenes. And you know what, if the haters had actually kept their mouth shut and had acted like civilized and less immature persons (oh, but that's just asking TOO MUCH for them), Kubo could have even planned a full backstory of Ginjou and Tsukishima and even a bit of Isshin's past as a Shinigami and why he's so powerful. I'm glad that Kubo had decided to write a much simpler arc like the Fullbring and hadn't started with everyone overpowered and "HAH, I can erase your existence with just a look!" I like Shinigamis and Arrancars, but it's just like you said, not everything revolves around them.

Unfortunately, the Fullbring arc will remain as the black pearl of the Bleach storyline, and it'll be remembered as the most hated arc of manga history. At least the anime is doing wonders to it by adding more scenes. And I still can't believe TV Tokyo is going to end the Bleach anime and replace it with a spin-off of Rock Lee, of ALL people. Well, it seems Japanese DON'T know how to appreciate their own stuff. No racism here though, but I guess you know what I mean...

Again, I'm sorry if my rant is so long or if I sounded so rude, but I had to get it off my chest.

I kinda don't like how some folks seem to be condescending to the human nakama for staying behind; hell, until Ivan pulled out that cross and bow, Ichigo was in a "don't give a shit" mode either. If that guy had been there for Chad or someone, Ichigo probably would've stayed behind too~
