Maybe remember that drawing
Now I have erased the bandage in Pippin's head
And now have less contrast Pippin in his long rest after the Morannon Battle... But now, with Merry at his side. In my own imagination, when Merry arrives to Ithilien (Cormallen, after all) Pippin was sleeping yet. And Merry was at his side a few nights (Gimli was here too, I think the dwarf never leave Pippin's side, because he was who found him wounded at Morannon ) Here we can see that Merry was very tired... He can't sleep because be so worried... But the tiredness knocks down him...
