Rupaul makes a mark in the celebrity world as the first supermodel drag queen after signing a contract with MAC make up and cosmetics. He is also an actor as well as singer-song writer.

Currently, he appears on TV as the host of his own show called "RuPaul's Drag Race".

This doll began its life as a 13-inch mass produced RuPaul doll produced by Jason Wu and Integrity Toys.

I first carefully study RuPaul's photos to get a grasp on his/her facial features as well as her distinct MAC make up look. Next, as I always do, I completely remove factory facial painting and proceed to carefully and meticulously repaint RuPaul paying careful attention to accuracy and detail.

The doll's hair has been also been completely reworked to reflect Rupaul's hair style from his Revolution publicity shot wearing the outfit that inspired the doll's costume.

The inset photo on the bottom middle shows the doll as it looked originally before repainting.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.
