Description Candid shot of Tifa and Aerith, everyone's favorite FF7 ladies.

Aerith and Tifa were penciled and inked as separate drawings, then put together and rendered in Photoshop. The grass and brick wall were made using free textures I found on the Net. The background trees are from pictures I had laying around on my hard drive.

This picture took me about 8 hours to complete, line art included.

Certainly! I used to be a big fan of , and I would look at her drawings on DA constantly, and I'd sometimes go through her favorites gallery, and this is where I saw it.

I like this alot. I'm a graphite artist and so I'm still a relative newbie on photoshop, teaching myself, and so it's neat to see the ink version in your gallery and then this one. Too cool. Yeah, the color tones you went with all seem to mesh and the characters don't look out of place at all. I'm also happy I can learn from this a little.

Quick question, how did you blur out the trees in the background?

Oh, and good likeness of the characters too.

Thanks! Glad you like this.

I used the "Gaussian Blur" filter. Go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and adjust the slider to the desired degree of blurriness. You get a lot more control using this than if you use the plain ol' "Blur" tool.

Good luck learning Photoshop!

This is great! I don't know much about final fantasy or its characters...but I like this a lot.
I love how you draw hands, too.
The cel shading is spot on, and the background really fits with the pictures. Sometimes people put realistic backgrounds on cartoon pics and they look kinda out of place, but these match perfectly.

No worries
The hands are good because they clearly show the knuckle bends. That's pretty hard for me to do - especially in a cartoony style. So it's a good reference for me

Agreed. Poor Tifa. Not to mention, that whole scene at the end of the game where her boobs actually serve to get her leverage over that cliff.
