Here is a simple few ways you can wear a mini top hat or one of the cake hats. I have read that people are staying away from these styles of hats because they cant pull them off.I can honestly say...you CAN wear them and look cute, its just a matter of how :3

This is just my own helpful tips of what I know works for me. I use this method on my friends when dressing them up for photo shoots..and they seem to like it too :3

I went ahead a picked the 4 hardest styles to pull off for these samples to show that it is possible :3

1. Always lean the mini top hat up and leaning on an angle. Never on the top of the head sitting straight. This is a hair accessory not an actual hat. Think of it like a bow :3

2. Mini top hat wearing is all about composition. By itself the hat might look awkward. What girls think does not look right is actually the fact that a mini top hat on flat hair looks large...and silly. In the 1800s mini hats and Tricorns were always complimented with large volumes of hair so the hat did indeed look mini.

3.Cascading and Clutter.Not everyone has the luxury to buy wigs or have voluminous hair so, You want to accent the piece with complimentary colors and alternate sizes of other clips. Don't wear a top hat and a large bow..accent it with a small bow and maybe a few flowers. This will give the illusion of volume and the hat wont stand out like a sore thumb. The brown classic wig with the blueberry pie hat is a perfect example of the average person's hair :3
If you are looking to invest in a wig, choose a wig with long hair and pig tail clips. Its like getting many wigs in one :3 you can style it like the red wine wig above and add instant volume with cute buns.
