I seriously don't understand what people see into this kind of pairing. A dark guy who suffered in the past and that lives with a burden with a girl that tries to make herself enter the guy's life and ''loves'' him for what reason? His good looks? Pretty much sums up this type of girl who's really helpless and pathetic to watch when it comes to this particular case.

Now I can sorta see that they are trying to make Xiaoyu mature and etc, but it's only to fit her into Jin's life.Β
Sorry though, it just...makes her mary sue-ish. I mean if they want to make her mature? That's not it. If she actually got over Jin and knows her place, now that would have been a grown up Xiaoyu.
Julia Chang would have still been a better option. She has a very independently strong and understanding aura about her, but alot of people say that she is too "boring".
I'd like to blame it on poor character development from Harada's team.

But Jin made it pretty clear that he sees her as a friend, plus he's not interested in romantic relationships (as he wants to get rid of the Devil Gene within his DNA).
Xiaoyu's never been interesting in the first place, just a typical highschool girl who's annoying and thinks she can change Jin (why would she want to do that??) when the problem's not even about that in the first place. It's not even her business.
There are so many characters in the series that aren't developped well, that their potential are wasted. It's a shame that we have to use our own imagination to ''create'' some kind of character within them. So I agree with you completely.

Yeah, I also think xiaoyu wasn't interesting, besides the fact that she is cute. I mean she is when she first made her debut, now that they are trying to force us to like her, she got really annoying.
And i guess you sorta know what I meant about them promoting the schoolgirls non stop now hahaha. They are too focused with fanservice, character development went out the drain.
