Well, I mostly ship them so much because I 'know' them. It wouldn't be the same if they were two other characters that you rarely write about. Sure, I'd still ship them, but they wouldn't make their way to my favourites. I think that the more you know the characters, the happier you're gonna be when they get together. I know because, thankfully, I've experienced it many times. x3 (Or some anime shows *cough*FreeandFairyTail*cough* have been constantly teasing me by not making them a couple D:< Which works as well, if you want to make the fans angry/have them draw or write how they think the characters would get together XP)

Thanks for the tips. And honestly, I'm not sure how the two would get together. It would probably happen after Sharon and Chester do, and Faust gets over her. Then he talks about the whole thing with Jay, and the reveal practically writes itself! But it's not that easy.
