I decided to redraw a piece that I drew in 2017 when botw first came out. I only have a low quality facebook screenshot of the original but here it is lol: sta.sh/0n9xhv5rkj1

Comparing them side by side makes me feel like I really improved
Of course my rendering could use some work
along with my anatomy and clothing folds and stuff, but all things considered I'm proud my lines aren't... chicken scratchy anymore?
What I do kind of miss is the enthusiasm I had for art back in 2017 when i first started drawing. As my works have gotten more detailed it's gotten more laborious. I've had trouble finishing stuff. Even this redraw which I was real proud of sat in my wips for like a month before I decided to sit down and finish it. But sometimes getting space from a piece is good. ;;

I keep mentioning this sense of like... "I can't draw", "I'm not motivated" etc. when I post something and I guess the best word to describe it is demoralization. I thought after I graduated from uni I'd... have more time to draw, and for that small period of time after uni I was super productive! But then I got a job... I really don't like and it seems to sap my creativity. I probably have to be a bit gentler with myself in terms of what I can do, considering the level of verbal and emotional abuse (and sometimes physical) abuse I'm subjected too on a daily basis because of my job. I've really come to resent my job in the last year and I'm hoping to get out of it soon, but for right now I'm off work because of covid-19 so I'm trying to use quarantine time productively

But here's hoping 2020 is a productive year for me art wise.
