Yes, coloured pencils are my favourite technics. I guess because they don't require special preparations for using and are quite clean in use.

nice work! good rendering of skin tones, very realistic! the way you blended the red light with green background is definitely impressive, seeing as theyre complimentary and all it's amazing you didn't end up with more brown =O. lovely reflections in the armour too, great color blending altogether! for some reason i think it could be sharper though, i mean, the blending is great but giving more difinition to the edges of the objects will just polish up this piece. like at the handle of the saber, the metal and detail is defined very clearly, but detail like that is seen no where else o.o that's the only critique i can think of, wonderful work!
