Wonderfully helpful tutorial! But can you link me to the skin texture brush by turtledove-stock, please? If it is still in their gallery, I can't find it.

Thank you so much for sharing this. You really helped me a lot.
May I ask you a question? Seeing image number 7, and then the 8th one, it looks clear that the colors have become smoother. How do you do it? I use smooth brushes and also the blur filter, my result is pretty decent, but yours looks definitely something more.

best skin coloring walkthrough ever! whoop! thank you so much ^^ not only did you instruct on the tones you used as well as where to put them, but also why (I suck at adding "warmth" to skin tones )

Nice tutorial! I downloaded the brush tool preset file, but I can't get it to load in Photoshop (I use PS CS2) ... I put the tpl file in the PS>presets>tools folder and use the tools preset manger to load, but I get a "can't load tool preset ..... because of a program error" .. any ideas?

I have no idea, but maybe just maybe it is because of version of PS.

Ahhh, I did a google search and it turns out tool presets saved in CS5 are not backwards compatible to earlier PS versions (they were in CS4 ...) .... too bad.

Wow! Thank you so much! I don't have Photoshop, but I do have GIMP, so I can follow this pretty well. I'm relatively new to digital painting, and I've had a hard time finding tutorials that will 1) work with GIMP or 2) actually explain how to do everything without using all the confusing mumbo-jumbo. I'd never known how to do the texture on the face like that. Most tutorials would just say "And add the finishing touches," etc, etc, blah, blah, blah. Anyway, thanks!

Hi
Could you please help with this.[link] I used basic hard(hardness 75, opacity & flow 57) and soft brushes (hardness 30, opacity & flow 20) and I chose 5000/3000 pixel and 300pixel/inch canvas.
I couldn't make it that smooth. I tried smudge tool. then here's the result on the forehead.I use mouse. Could you kindly tell me whats wrong with me?

nom-nom-pancake In reply to NicaRox2006 [2012-07-11 06:44:41 +0000 UTC]
The base color, shadows and lights I color under the lines and then I merge the layers together and paint the rest of work in single layer.

It's beautiful! The coloring is so well done. It's amazing how you went from sketch to this and you make everything seem so easy. I'm envious! It's crazy good. The pores, the earring, the shine of the eyes and everything else is just lovely.
Much thanks.
