(Yay! I have that one too) so, the thing I usually do is make another layer, put it over the colors (so it doesnt tint the black as well... just in case) and cover the whole thing red and then play with the filters and the opacity until I am satisfied... Did you try it and I am just narrating what you already did? (if so sorry...)

yeah, i did heh- I wasn't quite right yet and i tried overlay and eventually gave up haha
