That's her name, I thought that was Sana from the Star Wars comics. (you know, the one that was apparently Han's first wife (I think until it was revealed it was for a con) that got everyone pissed)

Maybe they thought of her when creating Val.
It seems they use the old EU (now Legends) often as a source for character ideas.

Worked for Rebels when they reintroduced Thrawn, and some elements like the Mandolore/Jedi war, and such, so it might work for Solo.
(In fact, I may have encountered a rumor that Mara Jade might be in IX, although I'm taking it with a pinch of salt)
