Description A Pakistan Air Force North American F-86 Sabre. I captured this image at the PAF Museum in Karachi.

There was a block near it. Here's what it said;

"F-86 Sabre is a single seat fighter, which was designed and built by America in October 1947. This was the first American swept-wing fighter to go in combat in the Korean war of 1950s. Pakistan had two versions of this aircraft, F-86 Es and F-86 Fs. F-86 F was the older version, which was powered by one J-47-GE-27 Engine, with a thrust of 5920 lbs. PAF had receivedΒ a total of 102 F-86 Fs from USA under a defence pact. F-86 Es were powered by a Canadian engine, 'Orenda 14' which had a thrust of 7200 lbs. PAF had purchased 90 F-86 Es through Iran in 1965. The aircraft could fly at a maximum speed of 670 mph and climb up to 53,000 feet. It had fantastic maneuverability and could perform almost all types of combat roles. It was basically used, as a fighter Interceptor, and for ground support purpose. It had six 0.5mm in built machine guns with 1800 rounds. For ground support missions it could carry sixteen 5 inches or fifty six 2.75 inches rockets or two 1000 lbs bombs along with two side winder air to air missiles.

Sabre had been the backbone of the PAF for a very long time. Virtually every PAF pilot till mid 70s had flown this fighter. F-86 was very effectively used in the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971. Most of the PAF heroes had earned their wings on this fighter. F-86s retired from PAF service in 1980."

[note: I shortened the text above to save time, the original text includes kills and names of the pilots that had flown F-86s.]
