Species history: little is known about them due to their history and culture being destroyed to reduce the chances of rebellion, but they were the ones that have created gems and gave them the power to make gems themselves. unlike gems they can't fuse, live forever or can't poof and become anew. if one is for example stabbed in the chest, they die.
Species Traits: can come in all shapes, colors, sizes. the 'tattoos' on them are called 'prints' it is like a brain when one learns a new thing a new print is formed on the body and one can 'open' the memory up and see it again any time. but has to be covered with clothing, due that Cutters are rare and valuable their prints can't be seen, the more prints one has, the more valuable they are. their skin is an outer shell or an exoskeleton, the thickest part is on the back where the heart is closer, but unlike the insects exoskeleton, their is no soft part where the joints meet due that the shell can harden and soften in certain places. in weather, if it's hot out, the body can react and use the bodies temperature to go colder, and vice-versa if the weather is cold out. cannot adjust to any atmosphere like gems can and don't need to breathe. all Cutters can't see bright lights once they hit puberty, so they wear goggles to protect their eyes. this happens because their eyes take out the pupil (in a way) to see the flaws and the sweet spots on a gem easier.
the sweet spot is the place on a gem that the cutters can cut corruption (if the corruption is too far in a gem)
Fusions: can't fuse because they are a different species from the gems.
