Description
For a game a friend and I are running, called "Ascended Masters" informally, in a world where a pokemon called Manaphy was consumed by grief trying to save its offspring Phione from corrupt scientists and switched pokemon and human hearts into the others' bodies. Manaphy later was killed as an act of kindness, but it permanently messed up the natural order, and as a result humans and pokemon alike disappeared, resulting in two distinct races: pokemorphs and gajinka (more humanoid than pokemon, all with abilities).

So instead of a pokemon Elite Four and becoming the best 'trainer', pokemorph and gajinka battle in teams to become Ascended Masters- IF they can beat the current Ascended Masters, whom no one's ever seen before.

Meet Kazu, a man in a situation similar to young Nocturias in that he was framed for poisoning an oasis and cast out of his pack in his young teens. Because he was a bit more rebellious than the rest of the young Houndour, Kazu fit the bill perfectly for a 'guilty' party. He began to become obsessed with the idea of proving his worth to his pack, then realized it was a lost cause. He wandered Johto, then traveled the continent and formed his own team to become an Ascended Master. However, while he is an opportunist, creative and talented on the battlefield and while his teammates are loyal to him as both a friend and leader, he still has one foe to overcome on his way- his self doubt of whether or not he can actually succeed!

This picture was hell to do. It took four complete re-draws and even then, I messed up like crazy, and he sort of blends in with the background. [mutters] However, he's finally done and I'm pretty happy about it, despite miscoloring his muzzle black and having to undo it with white gel pen (I love that pen, I swear) and recoloring over it.
