Description
A couple of people have drawn some Nick fan art which got me in the mood to draw him myself. Just some shading practice, but I am excited to work on him some more! You guys will learn some stuff about him from the Cosmog Baby storyboard project, but itβs mostly visual stuff (like his house). Do want to work on his background though too in the future, but I got a lot on my plate right now. For now, I hope you guys enjoy this!Related content

BTW, I never asked you but what inspired your redesign of Nick? Where did you get the idea of fur on his suit's shoulder areas? How about the tufts of hair around his ears? And his tie makes him look pretty dapper, but what drove you to incorporate it into his design?
I do like the contrast between both Nicks, not including his Wynaut form. The first is clearly crazy and very Saturday morning cartoon-y as you have made several parallels to Robbie Rotten from Lazy Town, but the second is much more reserved and very angry-looking like a much more serious villain. And I know Nick isn't TECHNICALLY a villain since he never does anything world-threatening, but he was based off Robbie friggin' Rotten; what else am I supposed to say?
But both versions of him I love! And it's clear this guy is still crazy even in his redesign, so I actually like his redesign a bit more than the first one.

Well for his redesign I really wanted him to look more like a Necrozma than his initial influence of Robby Rotten. With a lot better reference pics to use I really wanted to make it a bit clearer of what he's supposed to be based on. I also just felt like leaning towards making him a little less silly/cartoony and a bit more grounded, if that makes sense. Still not super serious, but more of his own character this time around. I think his look now also has just built up off of his new background I'm working on of why he is him.Β
So yeah in short he basically became more his own character than just a recolored Robby Rotten. Hope that makes sense!

Nick has been one of my favorites and with this kind of shading it makes him look like hes getting down to the business, Good job it looks perfect!
