does it let you make what kind of games? RPG, adventure, platforming?

Platformers, top down games (shooting racing), scrolling shooters, puzzle games, point and click games. And the list goes on!
If you know how the program works you can basically make nearly any kind of game. It even has some 3D functions.
However the tradeoff for this versatility is that its more complicated to use than RPGmaker for example.
The GirlsVoreBoys game was also made in Gamemaker.

Well, Gamemaker is usefull as it has serval functions that are really handy when making sprites. Stuff like an automatic outline drawing tool. And beign able to see your animation inside the program.
