Most action/adventures have certain features that make them action/adventure games. these features are the
interactive environment interactive environment, puzzle solving, item collecting, and sotry based game play.
An interactive environment is a very important part of action/adventure games. for example. the game Fable
and Fable: the Lost Chapter are great examples of this. in these game everything "you" do will affect the world around you.
for example, in the game "you" can choose to play as a "good guy " or as a "bad guy". if you are "bad" in the game and go on a mass killing spree. your body and the world around you will start to change for example, you will start to grow horns, and the world will start to change into to a more bleak and gothic like.if you are good in the game you will gain a more angelic look to your body. you will grow a halo and butterflys will fly around your body, and people will cheer at you when you walk around them. Another important feature for action/adventure games is story based game-play. Story based game-play is imprtant and necessary for this genre because if itwas not in the game the game will become boring and pointless. also it helps the player get more attach to the main npc. For example. in the game God of War the entire game is all story based every boss's fight. anything that you do in the game basely whether it was purpose or not will relate to the game later on.
Item collecting is a good feature for action/adventure. agood example of this is the game called onimusha. in this game collecting and combining cetain orbs in the game will allow you to perform and get more powerful move and/or weapon. Another good example of this is Destroy All Human! in this game colecting certain amount of human DNA will grants you new ability like telekinesis , mind control, Ect.
Another feature needed action/adventure is puzzle and/or problem solving this allow the player to use common knowledge in the game. For example, the Game God of War feature several small puzzle and the need to be solved before you can progress in the game. Another good example of this is feature is the game called Shadow of the Colossus. this game is completely based on puzzles solving the way you beat the bosses is by solving puzzle and making you way to the top of them by solving puzzle and opening door and stuff like that.
Those are some of the key features that are need in action/adventure game to classifies it as an action/adventure games and they are interactive enviroment, puzzle solving , item collection, story based game play.

the story of the pied piper goes as so in the town of Hamelin was suffering from a dreaded rat infestation. One day, a man claiming to be a rat-catcher approached the villagers with a solution. They promised him a schilling for the head of each rat. The man accepted and thus took a pipe and lured the rats with a song into the Weser river, where all 999,999 drowned. Despite his success, the people reneged on their promise and refused to pay the rat-catcher, reasoning that he had failed to produce the heads. He left the town, but returned several weeks later. While the inhabitants were in the church, he played his pipe again, this time attracting the children of Hamelin. One hundred and thirty boys and girls followed him out of the town, where they were lured into a cave and sealed inside. the way this story can be turn into a game is by making a game simulation game. it would work with the same mechanic as the game pikmen. you would basily just have to control the children and guide them to the cave and have some problem sovling in their for fun.

1. a game based on the crusade to reclaim the holy landyou can play as a crusader and work your way up the rank and command your amry to reclaim the holy land as both the crusader or as the other faction.

2. a game that based on creating and manging a gang you play as a gang member and you go around recruiting people and doing "bad" things like drive-by shotting , robbing store , ect.

3.a game based on the show xiaolin showdown where you search for shen gun wu.

4. a game based on the sport called motorball from the manga series called battle angel alita, you play as a rookie to the sport can you must win match to get better gear and skill point.

5. a game based on rejected super heros like the one that didnt make it to justice league in this game all the big time super heroes are off on some other planet and you have to stop something from happen to earth.
