Ok, Maddy's next. It pisses me off how Maddy always turns out better than Riley... I like Riley better. D; But I got some friends today to help me out with his design and Vani drew a quick sketch of how old he's SUPPOSED to look, so I'll probably update his ref sheet and make him look 20. ^__^But this is supposed to be about Maddy.
Maddy's the rather unfortunate protagonist of my story. She's turned into a dog by the same dragon that turned Riley into a human. She's 17 years old and really unsure of herself. But being with human!Riley loosens her up as the story goes on. The jewel in the necklace is based on an opal.
Oh, and her hair stops halfway down her back.

The reason Maddy turns out better in your opinion is probably because you don't care as much about how she looks. As in, you probably don't obess too much while drawing her, unlike Riley. I notice stuff I draw turns out so much better if I'm relaxed and just wing it. So, next time you draw Riley, just enjoy yourself. ^-^ (Hope this helps
