Shrinking Violet was only able to get a pace or two away before she heard the castle doors open behind her. Against her better judgement, she looked over her shoulder- and there she was. Her reason for coming all this way, for being here at all.

Princess Twilight Sparkle.

"What's going on out here?" The lavender alicorn questioned, having heard the muffled shouting, and now seeing the tear covered face of Violet. Said unicorn tentatively rushed forward, before stopping in her tracks and falling to a kneel, attempting to show respect to the royal despite her state.
"Oh, I'll have none of that. You can stand, it's okay." Twilight assured her, and by the time the younger pony was upright again, the princess had a tissue at the corner of her eye.
"I'm sorry about whatever Sharp said to hurt your feelings- I know she can be a little bit... Brash at times, but she doesn't mean anything by it. What's your name, sweetheart?" She dabbed away her tears, holding the tissue with her magic, but being sure to pull it away after a moment so as not to smother her.

"Violet- Shrinking Violet, your maj-" Her formalness was cut off at an eyebrow raise from Twilight. "-Miss Sparkle." She finished instead, hoping that was more acceptable. The corner of Twilight's mouth twitched upwards, so Violet took it as a win.

"Well, Miss Shrinking Violet, would you like to come inside? I'm sure I can find some hot cocoa mix or something that we can make up- if you're comfortable doing so! I just want to make up for my daughter." Twi gave her head a slight tilt with a reassuring smile. At a small nod from Violet, the princess turned around, so as to lead her back inside.

To the side, however, Sharp Tongue was fuming. Her mom didn't even know that she was being tricked! She was obviously too nice for her own good, and if it had been any other pony, Sharp would've had no problem. But Violet, who was obviously lying just to get in on the benefits of being a princess's daughter? Sharp needed to warn her mom- or at least keep a very close eye on this... This.... Hoodwinker!! This con-artist!!!!! She wouldn't let her mother fall victim.
