Description
A peek into Ophidia's physical characteristics in her early years, plus some backstory:"Not much is known about Ophidia's life before her rescue by the Avengers. The current( and widely accepted) theory after a duo investigation by Natasha Romanoff and Nicholas Fury into as many secret Hydra files as they could manage is the following: despite having an amalgamation of blood types presently, Ophidia was never actually a human turned humanoid. It's theorized that, in the late 90’s, Hydra operatives in Russia were the first onsite to the landfall of a particularly large meteorite; one that turned out to be the spaceship of a deceased or mortally wounded female extraterrestrial. Hydra seized this individual’s remains for testing and in the process of an inward examination it was discovered that the extraterrestrial was in the earliest stages of pregnancy at the time of her death. Despite said death, Hydra used unknown and less than ethical means to continue the growth process of the fetus outside of its mother's body. Near “birth”, likely somewhere in the mid 2000’s, Alexander Pierce/Strucker/a Hydra leader of slightly lower rank authorized for heavy alterations and manipulations of the blood-work of the soon to be born infant. A document under the working title “Medusa” declares that Hydra planned for the child to be a failsafe of sorts; an Agent trained from birth who as an adult would be able to easily and quickly eliminate “abnormal” threats to Hydra or some of Hydra’s assets (i.e. their Winter Soldier) if they were ever compromised.
After the public outing of Hydra in 2014, the Avengers were often recruited to disassemble Hydra facilities too heavily fortified to be handled by SHIELD agents; Steve Rogers, Thor and Natasha Romanoff attacked a Hydra facility in Russia and successfully dismantled it to rubble. In the process of this, Natasha Romanoff discovered a decrepit, dimly lit holding cell and a particularly frightened child within– a child with scaley skin, sharp fangs and innumerous serpents for hair. Romanoff and her teammates, almost immediately returned to Avengers Tower with the child and Romanoff herself personally took on the responsibility of looking after her (Romanoff was originally meant to only look after the child until more room was available in SHIELD to house her). In the coming months, filled with practiced therapy and personal connections, Romanoff and the child formed a mutual strong attachment to each other, much to the mental improvement of the latter. The child was soon named Ophidia.
Where Ophidia had originally been fearful of her new home, she soon grew to love it and those frequented it's halls. She became very comfortable wit every member of the Avengers, Natasha especially, and slowly improved upon the mannerisms her well-embedded trauma had created. She was given education in basic Math, English, History and Sciences mostly by Romanoff, Dr.Banner and Stark; when it was was discovered she could process and store information at a rate faster than most children, Banner slowly taught her more and more advanced concepts at her personal insistence.
After the events of Age of Ultron, Ophidia not only had to adjust to moving into an entirely new home in the Avengers Compund, but also to having a "room neighbor"--specifically a recently reformed Wanda Maximoff, a fellow expirement of Hydra. Despite her initial nervousness, Ophidia came to befriend Maximoff, with the two forming a semi-sisterly relationship over time.
