Well, that is kinda actually how it works for pronouncing English words for the purpose of being able to translate them into a format that can be written in Katakana since Katakana is primarily phonetic.
So, Kreiger would be pronounced Ku (γ―)-ri (γͺ)-i (γ€)-ga (γ¬)
At least I think the Katakana I put up above is correct XD
