Description
Telacar and baby Calion from The Elder Scrolls: Online.Context - Quest Summary
(WARNING: underage character death, necromancy, and spoilers for the Unquiet Dead quest in the Grahtwood zone of the Aldmeri Dominion)
Telacar was once a necromancer and a member of Mannimarco's Worm Cult. Eventually, he grew disllusioned with Mannimarco's teachings and left the cult to live in peace in an abandoned Ayleid ruin (which later came to be known as the Ossuary of Telacar), together with his wife and son, Calion.
Unfortunately, Calion died at quite a young age; when that happened, a grief-stricken Telacar took up his necromancy again in an attempt to revive him as a Flesh Atronach. Horrified by her husband's pervertion of the laws of nature, Telacar's wife locked him away in the heart of the Ossuary, blocking his access to Calion's life essence (the main ingredient for breathing the spark of unlife into the Atronach).
During the actual in-game quest, the player has to deal with Telacar's spirit, who is back at his experiments, along with his various shade-like minions. The player is aided by a mysterious ghostly creature, the Pale Sentinel, which turns out to be Calion's spirit, upset by Telacar's machinations and unwilling to become a monster (as Calion died as a child, most details provided by him for the quest progression are in child-like language: you have to do things like collect the Glowy Thingy and defeat the Creepy Alchemist in the Smelly Room).
In the end the player has to choose between trapping Calion within the Flesh Atronach (thus 'reuniting' him with his father) and subduing Telacar's spirit so that Calion can move on to a 'warmer place' (I chose the latter).

I love this quest, and the picture is so sweet. I always choose to set him free, too.

Aww, thank you so much for the appreciation!
I think my favourite part about the quest were the bosses like Creepy Alchemist or Boring Senechal. I can definitely see a kid giving them those nicknames. Poor Calion. :C

This quest reminds me of a more-or-less similar situation in DAO, when in the Calenhad Tower you meet a templar possessed by the desire demon and have to decide whether you should free him from the temptess of give him what he wants and leave the couple be.
