A small incident that might have very well occurred in class back at the Marauder era, when James Potter and Co were just practising to be Animagi... Obviously, the first try at the transformation had certain side effects.
I'm not sure if the Gryffindors ever had Transfiguration with the Slytherins, but I pictured both McGonagall and Snape present.
