Description
Tor parked the jeep on a dirt road, putting it in park and turning it off. He sat there for a moment, biting the inside of his cheek as he simply relaxed for a moment. Tor then let out a sigh before he got out. He first headed to the very back of the car, opening the "trunk" to reveal handsome Ander standing in his crate. The large dog wagged his tail excitedly and waited until Tor opened his crate, clipped his lead, and lead him out. Tor then grabbed his gun from the back seat of his car before heading out.Tor held his gun in one hand and Ander's lead in another as they walked into the field. The dog was walking nicely by his side, but the further they got, the more Ander wanted to whine and pull. When Tor was told to stop, he did, and he unclipped Ander's lead. After wrapping up the leash and putting it in his pocket, Tor used his free hand to fix the dog's bright orange collar so that some of it could be seen from under his fur. The dog was clearly antsy now, shifting from paw to paw and wagging his curled tail. He could probably smell the rabbits nearby, which Tor was hoping would be helpful to the two of them. He wanted this to go well.
Tor reached into his breast pocket and pulled out a neon orange whistle, putting it between his teeth. He then reached down to pet his dog, scratching through his thick fur. Ander was an intelligent dog and was more than capable of this, but Tor was still nervous for him; this was his boy, and he wanted Ander to show off how good he could really be.
Tor sighed through his nose before he whistled for Ander to begin. The large dog hurried off, trotting around with his nose to the brown grass. He weaved around, bounding from place to place. Ander's tail didn't let up at all, and it was obvious he was excited about what he was doing. When ever he took too long in one spot, Tor would whistle for him to move on. The grass was so thick and brown that Tor wondered if the rabbits were just in plain sight. Hell, he could've been standing right next to one and not even know it.
Something suddenly jumped from the grass and Tor whistled for Ander to freeze. The dog did as he was told, his fluffy head turning to look back at his owner. He was caught mid-step and looked to his owner for instruction. He seemed to be smiling, as if to say "Did I do it right?" The whole point for making Ander stop moving was to prevent him from not only chasing and killing the rabbit, but so that he didn't get in the way and get shot.
Tor quickly lifted his gun to take aim at the moving target. Even though he was a good shot, a moving target was still difficult. Tor watched the rabbit hop through the red grass before he fired.
