Afternoon Edit: To everyone taking the time to comment on this piece; I really, really appreciate it! As an artist, hearing feedback of any kind of on my creations is the absolute best thing I could ask for and you all are just making my day! If I've not responded to your comment yet it's only because I've not gotten to it! If you've taken the time to write even the smallest thing then I will MAKE the time to respond! Nope, just Photoshop. This image was done in Photoshop CS5, but I've since upgraded to CS6

Hm, well I only have PS CS3, so that's probably why your framerate looks so smooth. Unless you're tweening.

Not tweening, optimization! I did a lot of studying to see how GIF animations interact with browsers and was surprised to find that if a frame rate is too fast it can actually slow down the animation! I hand tweak each frame's delay time to get the effects I need, but I never, ever use 0.00s for a time. The slowest time I'll use in a frame is 0.03s because this is, currently, the fastest frame rate that can be displayed by a browser and even then it won't display at full speed in Internet Explorer 8 (Not sure about 9). If you attempt to use anything faster than that speed the browser will manually set the frame delay to .1, causing the animation to display slow and choppy.
