Commission 5 of 17 from the uber successful, life affirming drive to help =holls this weekend.brighteyed_jill over at LJ donated $30 and requested a digital Kirk/Spock piece with Hurt/Comfort elements and possibly period garb. I fail at period garb, but I think this works pretty well as Captain and XO. I kind of have it my head that Kirk's had an incredibly bad day - maybe he encountered Kodos again, maybe he lost a crew member... either way, he's troubled and brooding when Spock finds him. Lying in bed, tired, so fucking tired, but just can't sleep - can barely close his eyes.
Spock lays beside him and pulls him into his arms and whispers, "Rest, Jim. You must rest."
And it's not better right away, it never is, but suddenly it's not overwhelming.

Ah... What can I say? I'm a total angst whore and sucker for schmoop XD

Β Β Β Β It had been one of those days where it seemed nothing had gone right and Jim was grateful that his ship was in one piece and his crew was still alive. Jim was lying in bed tired but unable to sleep because he couldnβt stop thinking about everything that had happened today. He was so lost in thought that he didnβt notice Spock his Tβhyβla enter until Spock was lying next to him and had his arms around him.
Β Β Β Β βJim.β He whispered softly into his ear βYou must rest.β
Β Β Β Β Maybe it was Spockβs voice or just his presence whatever it was it comforted Jim enough that he could relax enough to finally sleep.
