No, seriously. I HATE Mpreg. I can count on one hand the number of good stories that I've read involving it. IT MAKES NO SENSE. (And as a biologist I have problems with it) That being said, even I have to eat my own words once in a while :/Related content

Other species in the Universe are capable of Mpreg, so it isn't that impossible, people just need to quit being close minded hatebrats and stop acting like the Universe revolves around their shitty human bullshit standards... :/ So hating it makes you look like a sexist cunt, seriously.. :/

I like mpreg, but prefer the births to be more on the realistic side (realistic conception is a bonus). It's also best in original pieces, since most franchises tend not to allow any wiggle room for anything close to mpreg (and even if they do, fandoms somehow manage to fuck it up, like writers for Edvy Mpreg most often write the very-human, exceptionally-cis male Edward Elric as the one to get pregnant instead of the shapeshifter Envy who could theoretically create a functioning womb if he really wanted to...or accidentally have one during sex via The Gate being a supernatural dick metaphorically-speaking, depending on which Fullmetal Alchemist universe you're going with).

I guess..? I dunno. I never really thought about it that way. Though I'd argue that that has a sorta-out-there-sci-fi explanation that is "within the realm of possibility" for the universe. I guess.

I agree... Normally, I would hate Mpreg with a passion. However, if someone manages to create something realistic -- where it's not all lovey-dovey and beautiful and all that stupid bluh, plus the birth (how the hell can a guy shove a kid out of his penis, come one, it's a C-section guys) -- then I'll like it. Because pregnancy isn't easy. I hate when people make it seem like that. BI

2. It's a race/species the author made up themselves (e.g. on a fictional planet called Rutabega, the Rutabegan males bear the kiddies)
3. It's a "Quantum Leap" fanfic

Most of the ones that I have read that have turned out to be half decent have put thought into an explanation- AKA, something like a temporary sex change spell, or something. Obviously, this only works in fandoms where things like that could plausibly happen XD

What I'm saying is that for the most part I dislike Mpreg, but I will read one if it is well written. In my experience however- most are not :/ (Stating something that can be taken two ways is a bit of a specialty. Anyway, thanks for the comment and fave!)

It just seems freaking weird to me 0_0 I mean, if can't they just write that there was some magical science experiment to make a baby that was related to both guys? It's not like it's any less unrealistic than one getting pregnant.
And I don't even want to KNOW how they work out the birth thing...

As I said, I think Mpreg is just weird. Most of the fics are terrible. But, every once in a while I've found one that's worth reading (very, very, rarely) in which cases I'll suspend the biologist in me.
