I normally wouldn't post these to my main gallery, but after being gone for about a week, I wanted to show some life ! * ^* / I rarely draw things I intend to continue on on paper, but apparently I draw faster and more accurately on paper. They're pretty messy cos they're all in pen.

Do you ever sketch your characters using the ball and cylinder method with a pencil first and then draw them in pen? Or do you just draw them straight onto the paper without using any construction lines at all?

It really depends. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. These had rough doodles for the poses and then I scribbled everything in. My older pen drawings didn't have any presketches, I just used the paper as lines. My chibi doodles on my sketch dumps usually only have a circle for presketch. Full size always require some sort of guideline or they come out like potatoes

OH and how do you figure out eye placement?! Even if I make lines, sometimes my faces look similar to Sid's from Ice Age! X3 I dunno if you sorta squish the farther eye a bit or something? HOW CAN I EYES...?!

A TRICK I FOUND RECENTLY UUH basically you draw the outline of both eyes piece by piece instead of drawing one eye and then forcing the other to match. I have trouble with eyeplacement. I try to place my eyes closer to the brim of the nose for the sake of glasses !

Aaaw ! Thank you !! For these, I actually just took pictures of my drawings, removed all the lighting and changed the contrast in SAI, then just gave it a quick blue overlay. u w u /
