I am the man who fights to hold in his tears because he was told they were not "manly".

I am the enslaved, I am the oppressed, I am the targeted, I am the bullied.

I am the woman who looks up at her new owner, terrified, and whispers, "Master."

I am the boy with bruises on his arms and cuts on his back from too many beatings to count.

I am their hatred, I am their sorrow. I am their pain, I am their despair.

I am the courage in their suicide, I am the weakness in their tears. I am the fear in their eyes and the desperation in their screams. I am the relief in their cuts and the solace in their pills.

I am the mother that should have loved them, I am the mother that should have cared for them.

I am the father that would have never laid a hand on them, I am the father that should have been there.
